If you are looking for a performance upgrade, I would not do a CAI as your first performance mod. Personally I would invest in Richie's V3 Jpipe. As soon as I installed my cai, it just made me wish I had an exhaust. I ended up getting my aem v2 cai, rv6 v3 jpipe, and finally an atlp v2 exhaust in this order. I wished I would have went jpipe, exhaust, and cai because for the $$$ to hp this would probably be the best setup. Just my 2 cents....but the part # is correct.

Get a J-Pipe first... you will be disappointed with the lack of power from and intake!

Intakes have their flaws. You can't just expect power on the first day you slap on your intake. You have to let your ECU get use to the flow of air from your intake. In about of week, should feel a good difference. either that or tune your car.

Or reflash the ECU by taking the neg battery cable off for about 15min.

The AEM V2 or XLR8 j-pipe are both great starting mods. The intakes actually do make a fair amount of power on the TL's.

That's why the directions say to disconnect your battery, but that doesnt change anything.

I know most people will disagree with me here but I just installed my UR pulley and noticed the engine revs nicely but I was a bit disappointed. Nothing on the low end more so at the high end. I felt only minimal gains with my ATLP V1 Quads and TBS. I didn't feel as much with these other mods as I did when I installed my AEM V2 that gave me more low to mid-range gains.

All this with butt-dyno of course, don't flame me. All I know is my car is very noticeably quicker than stock cars of my friends. I don't understand people who say they don't want that CAI sound? Huh? How do you not like that WOT VTEC sound?? You need to go to Lexus then.

I have my RV6 V3 ready to bolt on this week and am ready to experience the hype.

Any dynos on how much whp gain on a TL-S?

I'm trying to justify the $250+ for this mod.

aem v2 was my first mod and by far my favorite mod
my mpg was down to like 8 cuz i liked the sound so much i kept hitting the pedal hard everywhere i went

defnitely go with the aem V2 first. the intake basically gives power to the rest of the mods and brings everything together...your going to eventually have to get an intake so why not start with it

i did AEM V2....xlr8 exhaust....atlp test pipe...then switched to rv6 v3 jpipe with comptech exhaust and now im waiting on my v3 pcds to come in end of january

The CAI should make roughly 10 whp and the XLR8 j-pipe made 10-15whp and 15-20 wtq.

See this thread for more info on the j-pipe dyno:

lmaooo no man
you will get the same power you got on day 1 that you will get on day 30

this is not a subwoofer box you dont need to "break it in"
just take 2 mins to reset your ecu and youre done
reset ecu if u drive an automatic

these guys make copies of expensive parts and sell them for cheap but still decent quality

I would definitely go RV6 J-pipe first if you're looking for money vs. gains. The jpipe and cai roughly costs the same, but you're looking at 15 hp vs 2 hp gain...not to mention that if a cop pulls you over, they're not going to see or hear the jpipe whereas once they tell you to rev, you're screwed.

Either you have some really harsh cops or you have a LOUD ASS INTAKE…cops shouldn't give you a ticket or pull you over for an intake sound. My first mod was the Injen CAI. i just did it for the sound it makes when i hit the gas. i bought the rv6 j-pipe too but didn't install it yet. If you're looking for an increase in hp then get a j-pipe. if you want your car to sound mean then you hit the gas then get the CAI. Thats my and thats the route i took. Good Luck with your choice though

Most of the time these pictures are not of the actual part, but are posted to give you an idea of what you are trying to purchase.
