aem CAI bypass valve!

is the bypass valve for the AEM CAI out yet, and how difficult is it/will it be to install (with cai already installed) what would the process be like?

I believe the bypass valve is made for all intakes made by AEM, but IMHO is not worth it, since it will not work unless you submerge the entire filter under water and even then do you really think it wil filter out that much h2o??...personally I don't think so...

you're better off without the bypass valve. it would take a very very deep puddle for you to get hydrolocked. save your money and skip it.

  • BPV don't fit on this model (no room) so ans. is no.
  • BPV runs the risk of sucking in dirt if its filter's accidentally damaged or not installed porperly.
  • BPV loses a lil extra power but not much.
after bullet # uno i guess the rest are moot.

^ True. But if bullet # 1, did not exist I would seriously consider it.

I'm holding off on the AEM because the TL is the only car I have. I need it to get to clients (rain or snow), and I can try to avoid as many puddles as possible, but I don't think I can avoid everyone.

Before everyone comes in to defend the CAIs (saying you need to be fording a river before it happens), I understand. I just don't want to risk it, especially since I need my car to be useful in inclement weather or otherwise. Every mod has its downsides, and things you need to be careful about once its done. K...off my soapbox.
