Advice on full brake systems??

hey fellow aziners, its time for me to upgrade my full brake system. i think I'm going with the brake motive package. either the racing brake ss braided lines or excelerate? i don't know which one yet. anybody using any of this ss lines??

the difference on the price is about $20.00 more or less for the racing brakes.

2nd question is the brake fluid. i know theres some of you guys use mogul 5.1 or ATE super blue. how is the performance? compared to stock?

i also found this helpful thread but still can't decide lol...https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-performance-parts-modifications-112/d-002-tl-compatible-brake-fluids-boiling-point-specs-793891/

oh yeah i don't track my car or anything like that i just want a noticeable upgrade on my brake system. thank you guys any input will help

Just last week, I installed the Brakemotive kit with some Technafit SS brake lines (bought from XLR8) and some MOTUL 5.1 fluid. From a complete stock brake system to this setup was a significant improvement all around!

For about $150 shipped, it's hard to beat the Brakemotive kit. Some say "you pay what you get for", but I've read nothing but good reviews on it.

MOTUL 5.1 is probably the best you can get, but Motul RBF600 also works (DOT 4). DO NOT GET MOTUL 5!

I didn't read much on the choice of SS brake lines. I went with Technafit because they had green as an available color, and only $5 more than the XLR8 lines. Probably not much of a difference in feel. I've read that SS lines are really only good for hard braking over a longer period of time (rubber hoses flex easier).

I spent roughly $300 on my setup. Check out my progress thread (link in sig) page 3 for my review on my setup

12" vented rear rotors with 4 pistons calipers is a good upgrade on a TL-S I have not noticed any big differences when I got the SS lines...

Don't use brakemotive pads as they will squeak sometimes, there pads are good for 4cyl reel file cars....once I put them on the TL they tend to squeak.....

When I upgraded to the type s ...I bought the brakemotive rotors and cmax gold pads for front and back and I have no complaints

Our brake package include Powerslot/STOPTECH performance rotors and STOPTECH Performance pads. All of the rotors have a black e-coating on the hubs and vanes and an advanced alloy composition. The Powerslot slotted rotors for the front of most Acuras also have a Power Alloy composition and a curved vane construction, which helps reduce heat in the brake system. The STOPTECH Performance pads are a para-aramid compound, which has great initial bite and long-term performance and lower dust and noise than most aftermarket brake pads.

http://store.excelerateperformance.c.../i-401954.aspx

They are superior to the cheaper made rotors available in some other packages.

I would recommend STOPTECH brake fluid or MOTUL DOT 5.1

The above package and SS brake lines would be a great upgrade for a street car.

I have used motul and ATE Super Blue...either are fine but I hear you definitely need to change the Motul about every 6 months and it is more expensive. No one ever complains about the ATE. Most roadracers, including myself, use ATE. I prefer it over the Motul.

Im wondering this. Hopefully you can explain the full differences between your kit at 400 and the brakemotive kits at 200

Btw, Kix, if you want a decent braking setup, (my opinion of course, which works pretty darn good), forget all these setups (especially the SS lines, you'll *never* need these on the street) and stick with stock rotors (Centric) with some nice Carbotechs all around (XP8 or 10), ATE Super Blue and an actual set of REAL tires (Hankook Ventus V12's, Nitto NT05, Continental DWs) and call it a day! The most important upgrade for braking is TIRES, plain and simple...

You need brakes, you need tires...spend some extra money on the good stuff...don't skimp on these very important safety components.

But again, this is just my opinion...which is proven on the track and on the road...

You're welcome. Keep in mind you get what you pay for. And brakes are an important part of your vehicle.

That's not true. MOTUL DOT 5.1 should be changed every 2-3 years or 30-45k, just like the OE fluid. And it has a higher boiling point. MOTUL RBF600, which has an ever higher boiling point, should be changed very 15k or every year, since it absorbs water quicker, just like any brake fluid in its class.

I can tell you that we have had issues with ATE Super Blue fluid in German and Japanese cars. And if you're tracking the car you should be changing the fluid every race event anyways.

Better quality, better alloy, better machining. Keep in mind the other brakes are Chinese blanks. That's the stuff you buy at Autozone for $20 each and then basically they get slotted. That's not a performance rotors. That's a cheap rotor that looks nice.

They are not that dusty as others I've had....

I think my setup is the best bang for your buck....of coarse there is better but for good stopping power you need good tires .....

I've been using brakemotive for over 4 years on over 10+ car between me,family friends and never let me down. And all of them like the pads from them to but I'm a spirited driver so Can't tolerate noise when they get hot..lol

thanks man very helpful posts there...i am getting new tires pretty soon but these tires that u mention. are they stretchable? coz I'm running an aggressive set up and require a little bit of a stretch to make my rims work.
