so with adding both resonators; you think its quieter than cai; jpipe, & mm delete alone... is it still louder than stock? or even close to just mm delete alone?... i really want to here atleast something may just deal with the rasp... damn body shop keeps telling me tomorrow everyday to give my car back... will be installing soon hopefully....

thanks for answering my questions i know i may seem impatient and should just wait to install my own...just kinda dont want to order the second resonator just yet untill i install the pcd's...

Looks like the Magnaflow #10426 is a winner. I plan on stocking up and selling them with the PCDs.

These videos reflect the sound of having V3 PCDs with the V1 Jpipe and Straight piped 2.5 Inch mid pipe to Greddy EVO2 Exhaust. I do plan on getting a magnaflow resonator #10426 installed. So stay tuned til it come in the mail and I have it install with videos to come.

After with PCDs, Jpipe, Magnaflow Resonator #10426, and GReddy EVO2 Exhaust = problem solved, little to no rasp at all.

Just got my 18" magnaflow resonator installed today and i am EXTREMELY disappointed..although i took it to a local muffler shop and install was only 20$ it made no difference at all in any sound and was a complete waste of 100$ total that was spent i will post a video ASAP at this point im not quite sure what to do and am just looking to get rid of the rasp that occurs around 4,5k..

You must be confused, NOOB. You've installed an 18" Magnaflow, which more senior acurazine members have laughed you to scorn for even questioning its effectiveness. Hence, your rasp is gone, you're just hearing things. This is why it annoys me when people are so quick to start bashing new people for asking a question about a specific configuration. What works with one setup may fall flat on a different one.

On a serious note, what is your exact exhaust configuration? I highly recommend adding all your mods to your signature so that people can give more accurate advice when you need it, or so that when people see what you've got on your car they can ask you questions. I've got the RV6 V3 PCD's and j-pipe on my 2007 Type-S with a completely stock exhaust and only have some rasp in the 3-4k rpm range. I was going to go to the exhaust shop today for the exact same 18" Magnaflow but I may hold off until I hear more from you.

its always been a trial and error process.
as both of you found out, no one has the exact setup. This is why its so hard to recommend exhaust over the internet. Both of you had questions that only the individual can answer, as each person has different levels of liking.

Tmarks: you were not supposed to remove the mid-muffler. I stressed this in the beginning. DO NOT REMOVE THE MID-MUFFLER.
Now, since you only have one resonator installed...you have two choices: A) put the mid muffler back on and have the magnaflow resonator right after.
B) buy another 18 inch magnaflow and install that. so now you would have 2.

Nice Satire.

He did it wrong. I did stress not to remove the Mid-muffler. which he did.
My next advice asked him to add two 18inch resonators.
he didnt follow the advice and the results showed.

yea he did stress not to remove the mid muffler but since you mad that mistake which i did as well i now have a 14'' magnaflow res and the stock one ran right after it with no mid muffler and it sounds a little better than stock with absolutely no rasp which you are looking for so take his advice again and add another res and you will be fine

ok look the mid-muffler......KEEP IT OFF, just go back to the muffler shop and say hey i want to keep the magnaflow resonator on but can you put my stock resonator back on but right behind the magnaflow one, i have too much rasp and want to quiet it down. this will take care of your problem....again i just did this and it works so now you do the same and it will work

Just to make sure you have all your terms right, after the 3rd cat there is an 18" long by 4" diameter round "resonator" which then leads to a small "mid-muffler" right after the pipe bends roughly 45 degrees towards the passenger side. After the mid-muffler the pipe splits and goes to the two main mufflers. You'll definitely want to have your original resonator AND your Magnaflow both installed, the order doesn't matter. Also, to add things to your signature, just click "Settings" near the top left of your screen and then click "edit signature" on the left column.
