Acura TL TURBO RDX injector install with SCION TC clips

Well continuing my turbo build and the other day I was installing my RDX injectors and began the front bank, I didn't think to take pictures of which way the wires went in, I've researched and received mixed reviews, slot one yellow black wire, slow two on the rear side. I just want a solid answer before I put it back together and reprogram my megasquirt and know if I have problems it is not the wiring of the RDX injectors. My rear bank is still OEM so I'm going to check those and see if it helps when I get home but I'm wondering if anyone knows for sure where the circuit wire goes(yellow/black), some of the wires are also not yellow/black, any knowledge would help ease my mind, MY OCD is kicking in.

Might I add everything fits perfect!

I've read several threads

You are right about that but I am a 2004 and I needed to purchase Scion TC clips and repin them in order for them to work for my vehicle. I am just trying to ensure I have them wired correctly before I tune and use ms3 but thanks for your added comment......

I can say that in the service manual it has pin 1 of all of the injectors tied together going to the IGP pin on the ECM/PCM for their supply voltage.

Then the ECM/PCM is switching the ground on the E connector to the various injectors to activate them. It does this on the following wires:

Cylinder # --- Wire Color --- ECM/PCM Terminal
1 --- BRN --- E21
2 --- RED --- E31
3 --- BLU --- E30
4 --- YEL --- E29
5 --- BLK/RED --- E28
6 --- WHT/BLU --- E27

So essentially pin 1 on the injector clip is your +12V to the injector when the car is on and the ECM switches the ground on the injector pin 2 in order to allow fuel to flow through the injector. Each injector has a different color for pin 2. Whereas pin 1 should be YEL/BLK.

I'm not sure which way the new injectors are setup, as far as which side the + goes on and which side the ground gets switched on. Hope that helps.

It's around page 11-116 of the service manual if you have one.

It looks to me that slot 1 should be YEL/BLK on all of them.

Here's some pictures.

The terminals look like they're keyed different between pin 1 and pin 2 on the clips in the service manual as well.

It makes sense that they're 180 degrees out between front and back, if you think about it all the injectors are identical, spin one 180 degrees to connect it in the front bank vice the rear bank and the YEL/BLK wire is on the opposite side between the front and rear bank.

Sorry for triple post lol..

All the yellow/blk wires should be tied together electrically, check continuity between any of them and you should have about 0 ohms.

If some of them were changed out on the rear bank you should have 0 ohms from a yellow/blk wire to what should be the yellow/blk wire.

The injectors all basically have a little coil in them that acts as a magnet when it's energized and opens the injector so if you measure resistance across one it should read a small resistance, 10-13 ohms.

Cylinder #5 wiring looks backwards from where it would be stock.

No problem, it really shouldn't matter which side the wires are on though the coil in the injector is going to work the same either way. The important part is getting the wires that are going to your ms3 (the different color ones) to control them on the right injectors.

The only way the polarity would matter is if there were a diode or something in the injector that only allowed current to flow in one direction.

I'd just wire them like they are stock though.

It'll help that way if you have a bad injector later and are troubleshooting it.

<== still has the 5K wall but don't know if its from the RDX injectors , 2 step colder plugs, or ported runners.. My AFR is stuck on 10 when I hit 5K so the ECU shuts them off. I have an 06 but its been hit or miss with what I've seen. install it at the same time you do your MS3 so you can just program it right there and then.

At 10:1 its really rich, are you saying you need more air? I would think it could be tuned to spray less fuel so it doesn't go so rich.

Usually 13:1 is run for best performance.

Before I purchased the injectors they were flow tested at 540cc at 4bar. For now that will def be enough fuel. I will certainly know with datalogging and running ms3 soon.

interack to avoid any headache or if and and but's, GO WITH THE EBAY PRE WIRED CLIPS/HARNESS. all the k20 guys using rdx injectors use this. your injector (j32a 04-08) is the same clip like the rsx type s. its only 40 bucks for 4, but you need 6. you get it. I think this is your best way

I'm using the scion clips with the stock pins on my RDX injectors with no problems. The pins and weather packing fit and clicked in perfectly.

I'm going to dig into my top end in the next week or two if the temps stay above 0F and I'll snap some pics if anyone is interested.

Yeah the Tc clips are very easy I was just looking for a straight working diagram. I did my fronts in like 10 minutes. You simply pull the upper intake manifold take the two 10mm fuel rail bolts out, take off fuel line and Repin connectors and swap injectors. I just wanted to ensure my wiring was spot on....I'm just very very anal and I probably haven't finished because I'm not 100% sure if the wires are correct right now lol. I'm not trying to make this sound difficult guys was just trying to verify pins. TIP - make sure to torque your manifold down. Intake components are important when it comes to torque specs! Kaboom. Might toy around later and I'll snap pics with a turbo in the background. I should get out the HDR DSLR for this....ttyl people. I thought AcuraZine was down its not working on my work computer posting from phone. Peeeaaaccce

My graph looked amazing but my numbers not so much. There were to many variables. I'd have to pull out the sheet but I gained 10 horse and 10 torque every run then they stopped lol it was around 270-280
