Question 87 Octane vs. 91+ Octane

With gas prices shooting up again, my question is, will it hurt me to use 87 Octane in my '06 TL?

Yes.

Poorer gas mileage; Increased Engine wear; Voided Warranty.

Premium Gas Recommended means you can if you want to; Premium Gas REQUIRED means you must.

Even with gas prices "shooting up", the difference between Regular and Premium on a single fill up is ~$3 or $4. The DIFFERENCE in Premium vs Regular price hasn't changed at all - it was ~$3 or $4 per tank a year ago and it's ~$3 or $4 per tank now.

Besides, they water them shits down anyway. Lucky if you get 91 out of 93 octane gas.

I miss the 106 octane station I had in NY.

I think there's a 104 around the SSP in Malverne.
I would actually be scared to fill up with that; my friend did that a few years ago and it totally F'd up his engine. I think they may have had water in the mix.
