6MT owners need your input, testing interest in shift kit
For all the 6spd TL/TL-S owners, I wanted to see how much interest there would be for a complete bushing kit for the TL rather then just the cables. I have access to a machinist and can probably get some shifter box/cable bushings made along with a clamp for the cables. Would anybody be interested in this?!

When I wrote that I in my head was implying just the cable bushings, not the cables themselves. I showed the CorSport Acura RSX shifter base bushings, which CorSport themselves told me wouldn't work on the 6spd TL, because I thought maybe the guy was thinking of the cable bushings not the shifter base bushings. CorSport doesn't sell the shifter base bushings for the TL thus I used washers to make my own. Had I known that they would fit I would of bought them but since I didn't I homemade my own and made a thread inquiring if there would be interest in them because I could have my friend make a mock set and eventually produce them for resale. I figured since this thread is about shifter bushings, it was implied. Sorry for the confusion.

If you have an OEM then you need to remove it. If you have a CAI it can be done with it in place.
First you need to pull the codder pins out holding the cables down. Then you need to somehow push the old bushings out. I stuck a pick in the side and pried it out. Once done put the bushings into the ring at the end of the cable with the lip on the underside. Slip them back onto the shift linkage and you might have to use some pliers to push them in, but slide the C clips into the notched slot on the bushing. Replace codder pin and you're done. Do it on both.
Use this to help, its the same basic idea.

I would, but from what the members are saying above the RSX ones fit so you can just use those, thats why I was confused because CorSport said it wont work on the TL and they don't sell any for the TL so I never bothered to ask if they would fit or if anyone had them on here. I definately recommend getting them they really clean up the gear engagement feel.

I thought the bushings only fit on the tranny side of the cables (which are also the same size as the RSX bushings). If they are the same size, then it's a no brainer.

Shifter base with stock bushings and metal sleeves
With aluminum bushings
Basically you sandwich the shifter base between 2 of these bushings and bolt it down.

Go get into your car. Clutch in and start shifting. When you put it into a gear push hard, you will feel that the shift lever has some flex to it, thats the rubber bushings on the base. When you replace those it will go feel like its a wall when you select a gear.
