DAMN DOGS... you completely got f'd by that manhole... ok so you currently are running open cats... wow... so this is what I propose... pm richie... get the richie jpipe and precat deletes with his 3rd high flow cat... 
then do 3" all the way back

haha tein's post made me laugh, i had a similar problem a few years back with the first car i drove,
it's always that scenario, where you look at the ground and go.....i can clear that mthrfker! LOL the worst is on the approach even with a low bumper clearance you make it, it's when 25% of the car already made it over that you "HEAR"/feel the problem.... lol
acuratein, i think you're at a point where you have to pic aesthetics or performance right? true Dual exhaust also means more additional weight (and i dont see much room for gains) versus cat delete and a true single outlet exhaust with probable gains due to the 3" piping.
on the other hand real dual exhaust on the TL would sound SOOO mean, and make you feel more "special"

I've got a TRUST full titanium catback intended for an Evo, which is on the way from the Greddy east coast distribution unit in New Jersey.
Hopefully i'll luck out with this part and it'll go on the TL without too many modifications to the actual system. I've done good at picking and choosing parts that are not intended for the car, so we'll see if this one works out as well.
It's has 80mm piping, which should be close to 3 inches in width, and should weigh in around 10lbs! I'm not sure what the muffler will look like, but it should have a dull finish to it, and the tip should be blue/purple with the word TRUST etched on the tip.
Very excite!

I so want to see this, looking at all these single exits when I linked you to the apexi exti made me really consider going back to my initial thought of single exit heheheh

Yeah if you're going with a canister muffler single exit is the way to go, dual canister mufflers is rice'ish.

eric, if i'm thinking about the right TRUST catback for an Evo i think you will have some clearance issues with the canister i'm not entirely sure.
on the other hand the tip should look amazing esp on the back of a WDP (NBP would also work)
you should venture into getting the darker parts of your A-spec kit to be painted a shade darker, not black black, but really dark charcoal, it'll accentuate the tinged blue alot more, and in general looks hot on a WDP.

it'll require slight mod... but should work pretty good...
I'd like to know if the flange on the back end of the 3rd cat will match... I mean I am guessing you are going to run a test pipe there (richie v6 or atlp) just curious to see if the flanges match up... because I am going to go with that rx7 catback I had linked you to
