chill_dog, same thing happened to me last Aug/Sept time frame. It was late, dark, twisty road, and a HUGE puddle i did not see. Dealership did something similiar and sent me on my way. Fast forward 3 months and i blow a piston through the block. I ended up with a used motor with similiar mileage and my insurance picked up the bill. Good luck!

I just found this and sorry to hear this happened to you. I hope the motor is fine but I would be a little worried. I would change the oil again in about 500 miles to make sure all is well. You can see what comes out.....You have 36k and I have 136k.....same year. Drive that car already.

My mistake, my car is a year newer with 136k.....Get a couple of road trips under your belt son!

That's why I told him to go back and request a leak down test.. make them prove that there isn't a loss of compression in any of the cylinders. If they send him on his way saying everythings OK and then he comes back months later w/ a blown motor... it'll be another sad thread

Actually, this is one of the rare instances where a leakdown can show it's good while a compresson test would reveal a problem.

i actually did have a compression test before mine blew. only one cylinder was slightly off the rest but still in spec, but that was not the one that caused the final tragedy.

^ That's the response I was expecting all along...I'm surprised it took this long to get it. And I want to know what you're working on. You've been ghost for a while, which means something's up.

My advisor at Acura replaced my 83K mile Engine that had some internal failure with a new used engine with 60K. Do you think that the serviceman did the right thing?
