3.5 RL Swap?

Hello everyone I’m new to the community...though I’ve owned my 3G 05 TL for 5 years now I’m just now looking into modifications and I’ve found a lot on this site before that I’ve read. I was curious is it at all possible to swap from the 3.2/5 speed auto to the 3.5 that was in the RL if this discussion has been talked about before I couldn’t find it...but if it has been please direct me to it with a link...thanks

I believe this swap, of a J35A6 out of the 05+ Odyssey (LX/EX only) would work better.

I read the thread on the Odyssey swap but it had less whp from what I gathered that’s why I was curious is the 3.5 from the RL would work...it puts out 300 and I know that with the 3.2 upgrades are limited as far as raising hp...can’t find any comptech SC available in the marketplace and I’ve never been a fan of turbos... I’ve also read the 3.7 project that’s currently up and it seems a bit too out of budget for power to cost ratio for my taste...this car will be a project car over the next 10 years plan on giving it to my son after mods are applied and he is old enough to drive

The J35A8 in the RL won't bolt up to your transmission.

Your best bet is the J35A6 Odyssey swap. Did one on my 05 TL, you won't regret it.

Was there a noticeable change to the swap when you did it and did you have to space your hood

Absolutely, the torque gain is exactly what these cars need.

You also don't need to space the hood, the 05'+ Odyssey doesn't have a manifold spacer like the first gen motors.
