Hello all,

I've been following this forum for about 2 weeks now. I'm starting to do my research on cars, as I am in the market for a new car come next spring/early summer. I currently have a 99 Civic LX M/T (5 speed) which I have had for 5 years. However having just graduated school and getting a pretty good job, I want to get a second vehicle more for leisure and entertainment and keep my civic as my work vehicle.

I recently test drove an '08 TL-S A/T, and really liked it. The looks on the vehicle are killer, it has a pretty decent engine and performance for what it is, and is still FWD so it can handle some snow come winter time. Going in to the test drive, I was dead set that I wanted one with the Black/Silver interior with a manual tranny. However, after the test drive, I am not so sure. It drove wonderful, and it was nice that I could change gears when having it in manumatic mode. Each tranny has it's plus' and minus'.

My question to all of you is: From a performance / usability end, which would be better? I have no problem driving a stick as I have been doing it since I was 16. The performance mods I would do would be fairly mild (J-Pipe, Cat-back, CAI, possible reflash). I'm sure there are members who have done similar things to their vehicles so I would like to get their input on their cars, both A/T and M/T, once they modded it. There are a lot of really intelligent and passionate people here on this forum, so I would really appreciate any insight people could offer so that I can narrow my search down over the winter and get the car that I want come next spring.
