'08 TL-S clutch install problem!
Doing aasco flywheel and clutchmasters fx350 clutch. I get everything in and aligned. Go to put the Trans in and I get a half inch gap all the way around. There's no obstructions blocking it. I've talked with heel toe and clutchmasters. I'm literally at my wits end. I was a Honda tech for 7 years and did these in and out. The first time I've had any problems like this. If there's any help or suggestions I'm willing to hear. Some of the testing I have done is listed below
-installed everything 4 times and realigned another 2 times
-removed the friction plate and installed pressure plate. Tried to reinstall trans. Didn't mate. Throwout bearing still had movement available.
-currently replacing pilot bearing with oem unit currently.
I have pics documenting everything but I'm at a loss. Never had this much frustration.

Sorry to hear about your troubles, did you follow the AASCO instruction, checking bolt length, Test fitting all the pieces on the input shaft of the trans? Did you make sure you had the correct flywheel for the TL-S? It may sound dumb but AASCO installed my flywheel ring gear backwards.
Hmm, put the flywheel and clutch together off the motor and slide it on the input shaft to see where it sits. My 2nd trans install went a little slower, it seemed like it was hung up, but just used the bolts to get it aligned and back on. The dowel pins look ok?
Pins look good. Everything fit independently to the trans. Did you put a pilot bearing in your flywheel? I originally thought it was clutch issue but I'm wondering if the pilot bearing is binding it. Put new 1 in and same issue. So if you didn't put 1 in that may be my issue.

If the flywheel is the problem, removing the pilot bearing will allow the transmission mainshaft to pass the bearing location and should seat correctly. If it does, then put it back in and see what it does.
