Rv6 PCD
Rv6 PCD
What's going on guys! So I'm new to Acurazine but I've looking at threads for performance modifications for my 07 Acura TL A-Spec (5AT).
I was reading into RV6 PCD but my question is, Will adding this part make my engine light come on?

@thisaznboi88 Thanks man , I mean was looking at heeltoeauto.com to look at their prices & I guess just to cover there ass they put "May cause check engine light to come on". Like I don't mind but my car has 29k so I don't want it to have that light then comes to inspection it don't pass you know.

there are chances of you throwing a check engine light.
but if that does happen, all you do is adjust the defouler that the PCDs come with.
the defouler kind of tricks the 02 sensor into thinking that it's seeing normal air/fuel ratios.
the defouler sits a bit higher so that the 02 sensor is out of the oxygen stream.
but again, if you scared.......
inspectors see soo many cars on a daily basis, they cant visually inspect because the catalytic converters are in different places on different cars!
we dont even do sniffer tests here, either....
so when i pull my car into the bay, I can see baby animals dying....birds and squirrels just dropping dead when I pass by, no doubt you can smell the pungent odor of exhaust fumes.....
but as long as it doesnt throw a CEL, I'm good! lol

it's also the reason why in california we need the aem v2 carb sticker (even though it's not technically for our car but most inspectors just see it and pass it without looking it up online). i would like to do a 4" cai but it would never get past our smog inspections here in california
california does this and the pcds stick out like a sore thumb. the hfpcs are nice because some think it's the stock cat and don't think twice about it. i really wish the oem heat shields fit over the hfpcs.

That sucks, my buddy in LA pays a dude $50 to pass his 07 335i with completely upgraded exhaust from the turbo's back he has all three of his catalytic's off and a huge front mount intercooler and cai.
The biggest knock I've heard about the PCDs is the rasp and you might have to add another resonator to quiet the exhaust.
@Everyone
Well yeah here in Texas all they check is if the engine light is on, but again there's so much places that can do inspection & pass you. I ain't scared lol I just want to check cause it's going to bother me being on lol Thanks for the tips guys! Very helpful, definitely share my input once I install them

we used to have "texas meets"
where we all would meet up in Austin or San antone.
we havent done it in like a few years.
but the last time we were in Austin, we went to the Oasis. Oh no, that was the last time I went...
they had one at lockhart for a bbq as one of our acurazine members was a chef at a bbq spot

Man I haven't been to Lockhart in awhile I miss their BBQ!!... I've been looking for some Acura meets here in Austin I know there's some around just don't remember where they meet but I'll definitely find one. I was talking to one of friends to start a car club but life happens lol
Speaking of emissions & inspection, my time is about up for the end of this month for inspection. I recently had to disconnect the battery to do some car work, so now I've been driving around trying to get my car "ready" for emissions. I have the "torque" OBD scanner & my cat & EGR system aren't ready yet for smog. I've driven 300 miles but the car still not ready. I know the car requires a certain driving pattern for it to be ready, JW how long has anyone gone for it to be ready. BTW I do have precat deletes, and I've always passed inspection the previous years. I'm just wondering if this is the year they finally caught on with the whole switching to "one" sticker here in Tx.
Emissions and emissions inspections aside is there any point to keeping the check engine light off with the PCD's besides having to look at it? Does the ECU run differently if it detects a Cat that is "below efficiency"?
There won't be any problems driving the car with the CEL on for secondary O2 codes other than if you get a code for something else you won't know unless you check with a scanner occasionally.

its no different now that we have moved to one sticker.
-state sends you registration dues
-get the car inspected
-go online to state website or visit dps to get registration sticker.
if you are still tripping the CEL, you might have to fuck with the defoulers and reposition them to where it doesnt throw a CEL
