07' TL-S Exhaust Explination...

07' TL-S Exhaust Explination...
Can someone please explain the 07 TL-S exhaust to me? I was monkeying around with the car up on jack stands yesterday and was studying the exhaust system. It appears there are 3 cats, some type of resonator, and 3 mufflers....does this seem correct?
If that is the case, that has to be some crazy restrictive system right? I think that the TL-S exhaust is sort of conservative for a sports sedan...what would happen if the middle muffler were or resonator were removed?
