^^Resonated and non-resonated only differ in that the mid pipe either has a resonator or doesn't. Check out some pics in some of the earlier pages on this thread to get an idea what the tips look like.

Anyone with the XLR8 Quad Tip system have sound clips?

Not to be an ace hole... but the ideal sound I like is the G35 exhaust. Which of the two systems (XLR8 resinated or ATLP) would u guys say is the more similar to this??

I know it wont sound like a g35, seeing as how that requires more then exhaust. My question was which sounds CLOSEST to it... between the ATLP and the XLR8 w/resonator.

None.... ive seen both in person and it aint even a pinch close 2 that G35 Note... if ur lookin for that G35 tone, get the Stage 3 Exhaust done (Dynomax Resonator) and mid muffler delete

Some of the owners are planning a trip to Deals Gap if anyone is interested. May want to spread the word as this is a nice drive. Check it out on youtube.

So I picked up my TL-S from the shop in Redmond with XLR8's resonated dual tip exhaust... It's bad ass! It makes the Car sound so mean I love it! The techs at the shop were very impressed that such an awesome exhaust note was coming from a TL! The exhaust is really throaty from 2k-3k, almost too much for me in my daily driver, I'm glad that I got the resonated version, I'll post pics and possibly a crappy sound clip off my digital camera later today.

XLR8 exhaust installed pics

Here are some quick pics that I took of the exhaust installed on my TL-S 5AT.

After driving it for one day I love the sound. My only complaint is that in the cabin the exhaust is very noisy from 2k - 2500 rpm, enough so that I am going to probably put dynamat in my trunk to see if that will lesten the noise. Other than that it's an awesome exhaust and the car seems to pull harder from 3k and up on the rpms.

Thanks for the pic and the reviews. On a side note we have devised something with Billy Boat for the resonated systems. It is a resonator cone that will be placed in the exhaust system before the resonator to make the resonator work harder to reduce drone at those low RPM's. We will be integrating it into all the new resonated systems only. It will not be in the non-resonated systems as we feel those customers don't mind the additional exhaust note down low. If anyone wants one for a resonated system that has already been purchases we are happy to send you the cone and you can tack weld it into the mid section. I'll have more info and instructions next week.

That's awesome! I really like the exhaust, it's one of the best systems that I've heard and it looks really awesome on the car! I'm happy with the purchase, the only drawback is the low rpm drone right at 2k and if the resonator cone can reduce that by about 30% I'll be 100% satisfied as opposed to 95%

That's all I have to say about the look of that exhaust. Hands down best looking exhaust out there. No questions ask.

I'm praying that cone does wonders to the drone. I could be the happiest customer alive if that drone is killed. hehe.

The Type-S drones at 2k-3k rpm, even with a stock exhaust.... i think every single system out there has some type of drone (ATLP,XLR8, Greddy).... and its always between 2k-3krpm... the only way to completely remove it, would probably a mid muffler (like the comptech design on the 3.2L) that one didnt drone

im curious how this "cone" will work and if it really reduces drone....keep us posted Josh!

I just went ahead and ordered the resonated Excelerate Performance exhaust for my 08 TL-S. I am running all three cat deletes and a ATLP JPipe so once this is on my exhaust modding will be complete. Josh is throwing in the Billy Boat cone in case I get droning or something thats to much to handle. Videos and pictures will be up by this weekend!

We're going to start putting it in all future production of XLR8 resonated exhausts since we believe customers who are ordering resonated systems want them on the quieter end. But none of the current systems have them built in so I can send it with the system and you can put it in if you choose to. However, all non-resonated system will not get the cone since those customers want a more aggressive note.

I will save one for you. The drone really isn't that bad. It's very minor and only in a certain window of a few hundred RPM's. It's not really the exhaust; it's the TL itself. But either way the resonator cone should break it up for those that wish to eliminate it.

Nice! I am excited to get this on to maximize the exhaust systems potential, this is the only piece I need to remove the bottle necking stock exhaust. I will take pictures and try and document the install and stuff and do a video @ idle, WOT etc.. stay tuned! Thanks again Josh!

Nice. Let me know. Thanks and you're welcome. I want to see the vids and if you can label the video on Youtube as Excelerate Performance XLR8 Exhaust. Thanks.

The UPS man came today and the second he dropped it off I got to work! I was anticipating the delivery so the car was already on the jack stands. I opened up the box everything was there and quality was nice. I installed it in a little over an hour and I took my time checking to make sure everything was tight and the rubber mount hangers fit well.

I fired her up for the first time and it was deep (remember I have no cats at all and a ATLP Jpipe). I let her warm up a bit and took her for a drive. The so called "drone" that people say they notice at 2-3k rpm is there but it is not anything terrible! I installed it without the cone and will give it a week or so to break in to see what happens to the tone, if its still there I will probably find a local welder to tack weld the "cone" into place. I hopped on the highway and hit WOT and wow the gurgle this thing lets off is AMAZING. It sounds insane everyone moves when they hear me coming through

It was a bit late, dark and cold out so I didn't manage to get any videos/pictures but stay tuned I will do it either tomorrow or Friday!

Thanks again Josh and Billy Boat for such a great exhaust!
