can anybody tell me what a "straight pipe exhaust" is? how much do they cost, any pros and cons. thanks a million.

 

no muffler/resonator to deaden the sound
very loud
usually lose low end power, though there is no exhaust restriction

It's a tube from [each, if separate cylinder banks] exhaust header to exit point- side of car or rear of car. A straight pipe exhaust is illegal for street use due to absence of cat converters, excessive noise, etc. There is no way such a system would work for a TL without all sorts of complications and ECU/CEL issues as the TL engine was designed specifically to operate optimally with cats and mufflers.
