'05 TL 3.2 6 speed navi + 3.7 intake manifold +3.7 throttle body=success

Well. I tried it. It worked. But there was a few problems came up. One. . The sensor off the throttle body broke during shipping. Acuraoemparts.com is sending me another one so I'm using my 3.2 sensor. Also. The butterfly valve solenoid thingy on the 3.7 cover didn't function right. It left the butterfly valve open 1/4 of the way. I swapped the solenoid from my 3.2 intake and it fixed my butterfly valve problem. It took 2 hours. One on the installation. One on problems, causes and solutions. I'm still using the factory intake with a K and N drop in. Modded stock exhaust. I removed the 3rd cat, mid muffler, and the resonator. I left the mufflers intact.

Did you use the zdx throttle body or the 3.7 tl throttle body?

Also OP are they ported? Do you have any bucking issues? What are you plans for tuning?

Zdx throttle body. The only reason why is when I searched the part number. It came in 2 forms. 09- 13 Tl which was 300 and something. And the 09-13 zdx 217... I chose the cheaper one even tho it was the same part number.

No. It's not. The manifold is smooth enough. No bucking issues either. Revs up just fine. Also. I left the butterfly valves in. I read somewhere in the forums that taking them out causes that so I left them intact. And no check engine lights either. Tuning I'm gonna order a Hondata but in order to do that I have to get a 07 to 08 tl type s ecu.

My exhaust is quiet and no drone. Hfc to a big resonator to a dynomax VTmuffler to two dynomax super turbos. Minus the VT muffler it's all straight through.

I'd have to say that the VT is a very important part of making your car quieter. I have essentially the same set up but with out the VT as the mid muffler. it is too loud for me everywhere except idle.

Awesome Tommy keep us posted on your build.
Also, I agree you need an exhaust to help her exhale and a larger intake to inhale

I'm curious, is the stock catback really that restrictive? Like for example, if I had hfpc, rv6 jpipe with 3rd cat delete, and a stock catback.

Yes. Look up a picture or YouTube of a cut open stock muffler and you'll understand.

Since I didn't want to drill into my new magnesium intake, I drilled a hole into the air box and place it there. I had to cut the electrical tape to extend it out so it would have some play when the engine was in "fun" mode

Have a pic by chance? I was wondering if I could just unravel mine rr the harness enough to make it reach my intake a few inches from the throttle body. Sounds like I can. I wasn't really up for cutting/extending the sensor to relocate.

It does rev hang. But only for one second. And only at 2500 it holds. If I'm wot it doesn't do it. ... and if I drive normal it doesn't rev hang at all.

would rev hang still be an issue on an automatic? I would assume not, but it's probably better if someone confirms it.

To fix rev hang adjust the fuel trim when you lift off the throttle. Its on hondata website on how to fix it on civic si.

Nice work tommy97132. I've been reading up on the IM mods available, and the 3.7L/TB swap has been successful for many with ECUs that can be reprogrammed. But that usually leaves the 04-06 crowd wanting for a fix, especially with rev hangs and driveability. Glad to hear that you're having success.

If you have an At you should not have rev hang problems because the car is in gear and under some load. Mt people only see rev hang when they lift off and switch gear or put it in N

I did have problems. But ended up fixing every issue. Like a said. I ended up using my 3.2 butterfly valve solenoid... 3.7 butterfly valve solenoid wouldn't function properly what so ever. Also i found the screw adjustment on the tb to calm down the rev hang and fully closed it. Its working but I have to allow the tb test it's self before I can turn over the engine. If I just start it it will throw a code. And my tb won't respond to my pedal movements. It's weird I know. I'm still tinkering with it. Drivabilty is good. Still no bucking. Revs up just fine. Still no check engine light.. pulls harder than a mo fo tho. And I love it.

Nice post. I have a similar set up. Interesting about your butterfly valve solenoid, I did not have any issues. I had a little rev hang at the beginning but it has gone away. I also have an AEM V2 intake so the IAT sensor fit on the side tube . I noticed improved bottom and mid end with this mod.

That surprises me about your new butterfly valve solenoid working. It just plug and go... or did you tinker with it to work.?

I've had this setup installed on my '04 5AT TL for nearly 6 months now. I then installed PnP Intake Runners and Intake Manifold Spacer shortly after. Definitely love it.

Everything was plug and play, no issues with the butterfly valve. No rev hang either since I have 5AT.

I didn't have to do anything, straight bolt on and plug in. I don't know the experience of a faulty valve solenoid. Can you describe what happens? Does the engine sound different? Maybe mine's broke and I don't know it?

It left my butterfly valve open 1/4 of the way. Threw a code because of it. Felt laggy. No top end.. rpms held at 2500 constantly with no change.

Nice swap buddy!!!!

Did you use the 3.7 TL IM???

I'm looking for the same setup but wondering if a 07 MDX intake would fit. It has the same IM gasket PN but different TB gasket PN. I already have a 2012 MDX TB in hand.

Thanks! Yea I used the tl im. But I used the zdx tb. It was cheaper even tho it was the same part number for the tl tb. I'm not sure if the mdx intake would fit. I'm sure someone else knows if it does.
