04 Tl Looking For Performance Work

Whats up guys. Ive always browsed this forum and finally registered. I have an 2004 acura tl looking to do work. Currently the only mod i have is an comptech exhuast which i love. Does that give me any power by the way? WHP?
Im not sure what to look for. My friend has an 06 tl with a racing pulley, aem intake,pro-cats, stage 3 resonator, type s tips. And when me and him raced i beat him by about half a door length. Why is that is it because i start with 270 and he starts off with 258.
If true then im interested in buying alot of parts. If not i dont know whats wrong with the parts or this kids car.
Well what would be a big help is to put a price/whp/torque/sellers contact next to the parts i list.
Or if any other opinions such as straight piping.
Straight Pipes=?
UR pulleys=?
AEM=?
pro cats=?
thermospace=?
throttle/gasket=?
can i get both?
stage 3 resonator w my aftermarket intake? can that work?
ANY OTHER OPINIONS BESIDES WHAT I MENTIONED OR S/C & NOS. THANKS

eh...2004-2006 TLs all start with 258 HP...the 270 wasn't correct, even though that's how it was published...so why you beat him i don't know....bad driver, maybe?

and i've got the AEM CAI and UR Pulley and noticed a huge difference in response from the throttle and more higher-end power...the CT exhaust you have maybe gave you 4-5 WHP...

There's a GB going on for the pulley and the AEM CAI:

Also, if you look here, you will find other GB's:

probably the reason you pulled on him was that the TL in 2006+ models has a changed ECU which limits torque in the first 2 gears, so there is less torque steer.

from what I have read here, best bang for the buck is the AEM Intake 250 dollars, E-Shift Pro Cats 1200 Dollars, and the spacers (both thermoblock and throttle body) about 120-150. The exhaust you have helps a bunch if the intake side of it can take in more air, get the spacers, then the AEM then if you have money, the E-shift pro cats.

have you looked at the "sticky" at the top of this subforum?

shows dyno #'s with AEM CAI + CT Exhaust before and after.

I would jsut go with the P2R thermal kit from excelerate. That has the spacers that you will need. As for the resonator and straightpipes, I would advise against that if you plan on getting the pro cats as back pressure may fall too low and cause losses in the Torque area. The comptech Cat back exhaust is good the way is it.

It depends, do you want something loud, deep, silent, etc?

well my comptech sounds nice so i guess i can make a little louder, n i think it would sound perfect. If its available to add on to my exhaust i might do it. What do you recommend?
