LOOKS: BB mufflers are slimmer than Comptech's, with a bit larger and better finished tips. These features conspire to give the exhaust a low key, neat, but still aggressive look. The mufflers/piping are little visible from the A-Spec apron from behind and side, all you see is tips, which is good thing in my opinion. From the side view, the tips seem to stick out more than Comptech's and way more than stock tips which almost don't show at all from the A-Spec apron.
SOUND: Non-resonated version is loud and boomy, especially at low RPM and when you let go of the gas. It becomes better and nice sounding after 2K RPM and higher up, little raspy approaching the red line. Better flowing j-pipe, test pipe, no cats, etc.., increase the noise, so be prepared to at least put the 3rd cat back in, get a large resonator, or both
PERFORMANCE: To be honest I don't feel much difference, as expected. From a dead stop, at low speed/ RPM the car feels as if it is laboring more because of the noise from the exhaust. Before the car seemed to be on the verge of bugging out if you don't give it enough gas, now it pulls out cleanly w/o much slipping the clutch and giving it much gas but the noise seem to overwhelm whatever gain there is. It feels like the high RPM pull is less stressful and is improved.
OVERALL: Solid quality, good looks, fine sound and performance past low RPM, but the fit and noise control could be improved.

And you're right about the slimness compared to Comptech. The BB cans tuck up much more nicely.

Oh no, I didn't mean you're whole rear, I just meant that one can. Guess I should of reworded it differently lol. But yea, I'm pretty sure it's less noticeable as you said since you have the aspec. None the less, nice car. Not tryna dog on you or anything ![Thumbs Up](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
Might think about getting the resonated version later later later on.

All exhausts have been added to the website. Since there were additional changes made since the last pictures I would like to take new pictures for you guys.
http://store.excelerateperformance.c...s/g-55889.aspx
I have one non-resonated exhaust system in stock and resonated and non-resonated being built now.

I just got done adjusting the tips. I got rid of the 2 rubber hangers in the back and replaced with 3-4 zip ties, i tightened them all the way and the tips are up as far as possible, touching the aspec, will this cause any melting to happen? It looks 10x better, now that they're even with no space. I will try to post up some pics tomorrow.

I'm considering putting zip ties or pipe clamps around the rear rubber mounts to compress them and bring the tips up too. They hang a little to low stock. Do follow up after you get the tps the way you want them

Try putting the rubber hangers back on and wrap the zip ties around them and pull them tight. This should allow some vibration damping and raise the muffler. This was my plan, give it a shot, see what happens

Well the wire ties didnt work, after taking my car for a spin with some heavy acceleration, the right muffler slipped out, so ill be putting the hangers back on till i can find a different solution.
ACTROS: do you have any pictures of under the car so i can see exactly what you did to adjust it.
Here are some pics of what it looked like though:

I'm thinking the only possible solutions are either different hangers or having the mounts on the cans modified and re-welded.
Actually, I suppose a second set of holes could be drilled higher up in the mounts??

I'm beginning to think the best thing to do is replace the rubber hangers. The new exhaust is significantly heavier than the stock one and is cetainly not helping to keep the system/tips where its supposed to be.
I've found a few places online that sell rubber hangers. I'll try to get some dimensions off the stock ones and try to get something just shorter or shorter and stiffer.
I'll post up what I find when i figure it out.

RBP_04TL...i would def go for the resonated exhaust if your tl is your daily driver. I have an 06 AT with AEM CAI, j-pipe, hi-flow 3rd cat, and XLR8 resonated exhaust and I love the sound!!! And its my daily driver/work vehicle to boot...

milk man...i put the exhaust and CAI on at the same time so i cant say the exact results of the ehaust only. but together it def gave me more pull after about 2500rpm through all gears. not to mention it sounds great, especially when vtec kicks in!!! After adding the j pipe and hi-flow cat, it really has picked up some hp but i have no dyno pulls to show exact numbers...as far as pics im working on it, busy with work these days so ill try asap

oh so you'll get even more out of the exhaust than me since you did the precat deletes. yea i didnt want to deal with a lot of drone so i went with the resonated version. the j pipe quiets the drone down to almost nothing also so it sounds like this is the right one for you
