'04 and '05 engine compatible!?

Excuse my ignorance not really a super into cars and know a lot but I wold like to ask if anyone knows if I replace and 05 TL Engine with that of an 04 TL. if that would have no problems or issues since they areally both 3rd Gen and have 3.2 L J32A3 (270 hp) V6 and both 5speed automatics. might sound like a stupid question so please bare with me hope some or someone can answer my question before I go ahead with it. thank you for reading

^my TL is a six speed manual, and I used a prior year automatic engine and just plugged up the extra cooling lines.
which you wont have to do, cuz automatic to automatic swap is easy!

My '05 TL has roughly 240k miles on it drives good only shitty thing it has i's the 1st gear takes a few seconds for it to kick in that or the car won't go when it's in drive and I have to put it in neutral than back to drive a few times so it picks up. other than that it runs well. my '04 I wrecked it a year ago on the driver side but my engine didn't get any damage to it whatsoever just the radiator and that one has close to 100k on it so just figured I'd take one engine out and put it in the other. do all the fluid exchanges on it and hope for the best haha

EXACTLY how it did before the engine swap.
even if i lifted the hood, NO ONE would be able to tell.

the only people that know are you guise, my mechanic and myself.
body has 75k miles and used engine has 100k+ miles, but runs just like brand new

Well that's what's up! how much did you pay your mechanic to swap it out for you bro? I'm trying to get an estimate on how much I should pay the guy that's going to do the swap

i bought junkyard motor for $650 (100k+ miles.)

and the mechanic is a personal friend and said he started swapping engines at his parents house for $650, and what he chose to charge me.
so, $650 and some change for fluids and a new battery.
all together i spent about ~$1350
