Is your system and double din install cleaner than mine? Pics!!

I'm sure I am forgetting a lot. To start. iWork at a car audio shop in Tampa fl and we did this all! It's been quite a mission. I am sponsored by Memphis audio. Will be posting a ton of pics. The build. Now. Future ideas. Port. Radio. Lights. ECT. Any questions feel free! New here so not quite sure how to go about the picture adding!

2 Memphis Audio M5 12" subs 600 RMS apiece. Memphis audio PRX 1000.1 monoblock for the subs. Memphis audio 4.50 4 channel for the kids and highs. All speakers are MClass 6.5 components and tweeters. All 0 gauge OFC stinger wire. Second battery in the trunk stinger spv44. Memphis 2 farad cap and distributor blocks and fuse blocks. Custom built 4th order box made out of double baffled mdf with a plexi glass front with Memphis logo sand blasted in with leds to show it off. Brushed aluminum Formica for box and amp racks. **amp racks aren't finished** carbon fiber vinyl wrap for panels. Hit 141 DB when these were just powered on for 10 minutes with no tuning or break in. Custom port in ski hole.

Radio is a pioneer 4500bt double din, factory navi still works, nav components mounted in trunk, steering wheel controls and Bt works.

This is loud!!!! Very clean!!!

looks nice but the box doesn't look like a 4th order bandpass. Just looks like a center ported box with the port firing in through the ski hole, i could be wrong through...

I didn't say is it nicer. I said cleaner! It's hard to find quality installs on TLs for some reason... And it is a 4th order box.. What isn't 4th order about it?

That looks like a regular ported box. Are the subs firing into the cabin or is there a chamber in front of them that I can't see? It should be a sealed enclosure firing into a ported enclosure. I had a bandpass right before I went infinite baffle.

My install isn't as clean but I like stealth. I hid the 3-way front and the 15s surprisingly well. You would never know I had a system if the tweeters didn't give it away and I retained over 90% of my trunk.

Loud and clean is relative but 50w per channel will only get you so far on speakers with average efficiency. I started with 300w for the entire front stage and now have 1200w for the fronts and the difference in clarity is huge, especially at high volumes. 50w per channel will sound loud but tripling the power will make it clearer.

I'm not sure where you are getting your info (or misinformation) but the a is a simple ported box. It is not 4th order. This is a good example of a 4th order:
http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/boa...ass-enclosure/

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind the look of your install, but there are several guys on her that have much cleaner installs. I guess maybe it's my definition of clean. Mine was clean when I had my tl, but kirk's tl, xxx_busa, there is an all focal setup bing at simplicityinsound built, diamondjoequimby (very impressive in person), and probably 4-5 others, including matt(ihatecars). All of these are serious sq systems, including Kirk that is a world champion in sq competitions and is one of my favorite installs (along with busa).

I actually think my single din install was one of the nicest done in a TL to date, if we are self proclaiming.

Self proclaiming is not real popular but like I said, I don't mind yours. It looks pretty good and as long as you like it, that's all that matters .

The reason if this post is to get people like you!!to give examples and names of who's is cleaner so I can see!! I never ever said mines the cleanest. I'm simply wanting to show it off and get others to say what isn't and is clean!

The ground block and center ANL fuse holder are not lined up with the wire holes. Three different sized wire/colors.....mehhhhhh.....wrap it in tech flex and color code with heat shrink. Can't really see the DD install or the amps. Radio side trim looks good from what I can see.
If you want 140DB of chick head turning bass, keep the big box. If you want musical, realistic bass with trunk space that will still do over 130 on music, IB.

Agreed with everyone. It's definitely a regular ported box and not a 4th order bandpass. I was looking to see if it might be a 6th order but nope.

In addition to the other suggestions, you need a lot more power on the front stage. I never understood this back when I had 75w per channel because it got loud but after more than tripling the power and going with 9" midbasses I now know why people run so much power.

Like I said, I'm not criticizing your setup, it looks nice, just pointing out 88db efficient midranges on 50w will not come close to keeping up with 140db of sub bass but maybe that's not your goal. Most of us around here are into sound quality over spl and we have a few cars on the board that will do both very well, not to mention one SQ world champion.

This is all Memphis Audio gave me, for free. I couldn't pick and choose and picky.. All I had to pay for was the materials... The amp racks, fuse battery and wire display was temp. I built it the night before my shop held a huge car show.. It has no rack or anything for the past 3 weeks. These are pictures of the process. Not the final.

Like i said this was temp for one show, that show was mainly spl and i just wanted it too look decent for the show.. This was before. wires are all going to match up to the orange and black from memphis, this battery box and fuse holder was just for the show... amps i dont have many good pics for because i didnt bother taking pictures of because that was a half ass mdf with carpet to hold them in for the show... dd pics will be posted

Not sure what he did but i extended the wires with cat 5 and ran it with my 0 gauge rcas ECT of the trunk and hid the navi and factory radio and it all works exactly how it should. As if my pioneer is just my factory radio.. Wasn't hard at all. I don't understand how people say doing a radio is difficult in these cars..we had it done bonded extended painted ECT in half a day completely finished with kit extension and pointing the panels
