Y2K9 Navi problem?

I'm sure it's just a coincidence, but my 2004 Navi is now stuck in a "reboot loop" eerily similar to the Zune problem. Any one else seen any weirdness?

It is the weirdest thing. I have now figured out that the Navi works great, but only when the key is in position 1 (ACC). If I turn the car on, start it, etc., it gets stuck in the reboot loop. I'm going to try to call it in tomorrow. Any ideas what would cause that? It is obviously not a Y2K9 problem now. Thanks for confirming I'm not nuts!

I should add that as soon as I turn the car from 2 to 1 (killing the motor), the Navi starts working again--it gets out of the reboot loop and goes to the disclaimer and proceeds on normally. It works whether the car is moving or still. I have not tried purposely killing the motor with the key on to see if it still works with the motor OFF and the key on. Any other thoughts?

I'll have to try that one more time... now that I know what is "causing" the issue to occur. I have already disconnected the battery once but that was when I thought it was rebooting no matter what. If any of you guys can find that thread, maybe there are some other ideas! That key position thing is just bizarre for me.

I just remembered now that I have got it working with the key in position 1, I can run the diagnostics on it. I'll try that and post results.

doesn't TL's navi run on Windows CE? The Zune 30 failure was due to a bad driver that was triggered by the the leap year. From what I understand it will affect any Windows CE device carrying that driver.
Although the fact that you seem to be the only one affected would most likely rule that out.

It's flaky now, even with the key in Position I. When it works, it passes the built-in test (except for things like A/C because the car is off). When it is not working, it fails on "GPS" (not sure if that's the receiver, the antenna, or what). I'm taking it in on Thursday.
