Y adapter for two audio inputs?

I've been looking for a way to hook both my Sirius unit and my iPod up through the tape adapter. But I can't find a cable that will split out the tape adapter to both units (one female, two males). I've seen them the other way around (one male, two females) to split out audio, but nothing to "split in" audio. Does anyone have a suggestion? Radio Shack does not have these.

get a headphone jack splitter which are like $3 from radio shack and also the female/ female adapter to connect the tape adapter to the splitter which will give 2 jacks. Remeber when using this setup that the dvice with the stronger output will dominate, so turn off the other one when not in use!!!

I'm a little confused how this will work. I have one male plug (from the tape adapter) that I need to split off into two female connectors. So I need something that goes from one female to two males. The headphone splitters go from one male to two females. Your female/female adapter would plug into what then?

I think I see where you're going with this now:

Tape adapter male -> female/female splitter -> male of headphone splitter -> 2 male/male cables to plug into my devices.

That should do it.

Now I just need to find a right angle male/male cable.

you could always just cut and splice to get what you need if you feel comfortable doing that

Check out www.parts-express.com for adaptors, right angle plugs, etc. Unfortunately it sounds like you might be building a "better octopus". If you are good with a low-wattage soldering iron you may want to solder-up your own cable or break-out box. They will have just about anything you would need.

Thanks guys. I don't know why I didn't just think of building my own cable to begin with. I've got a soldering iron and know how to use it for the most part. I think that'll be the best option.

I ended up finding one of these Y cables at a different radio shack when looking for supplies to make my cable. Long story short, when both devices are plugged in at the same time, the Sat radio is barely audible -- even if the iPod isn't playing anything. So there goes that idea. Guess it's FM modulator time.
