XM on a new car

My TL is about 2 weeks old, and I have about 10 working channels on XM Radio. Is it the same for everyone? Will these channels go away, if I activate and later cancel the 3 month trial?

I'm not understanding your question. Are you saying that you think only 10 channels work? Eventhough you have a trial, all channels are active. I can't remember exactly but if you push the + and - buttons at the bottom it cycles through the categories and puts you at the first channel of each category, but if you turn the dial then it will cycle through all the channels.

You arernt making alot of sense, but if you have the free trial, then you should have all the channels working, not just 10.

Sorry for the confusion. I have not activated the trial, but I still have 10 or so working channels. I understand that I will have everything during the trial. However I don't intend to keep the service after the trial ends. When XM will turn off the service, will I still be getting the channels I have now, or will it go complteley dead?

I am sure the XM satellite police are tracking you down as I type.

In response to gt1, I am reasonably sure you are getting more than just ten channels during your trial period....try turning the tuning knob (no flame intended) and see what you get. After the trial, you should only be getting channel 1, the XM preview and channel 247, the emergency alert (aka post-apocalypse info) channels.

You might have the radio on the catagory setting , so it will stay on the stations in that catagory.

You'd either get channel 1 (preview) or all of them. I don't think there's any sort of 'limited subset' option.

If you've been getting XM in full without ever signing up, more power to you. Enjoy it while you've got it.

OK, I need to find a red faced smiley. It just never crossed my mind to tune with the dial. I have a full service, which means that it was activated by the dealer, who never mentioned it during the delivery. I thought that this trial was one of those deals, where they want a credit card number and start billing after the trial ends, but apparently it is not the case.

Nope, the XM trial period is activated by the dealer and it should automatically cease when the trial period is over. You'll get like a nag screen when the XM button is pushed. XM will send you subscription info through the mail which should you decide to subscribe.
