XM NavTraffic - Not working?
So I purchased the $77 XM renewal for my gf and this year decided to get her the NavTraffic subscription but for some reason, it doesn't work.
She owns a 2005 TL. They said it would work on that model. We are located in Los Angeles so it's not like we're in a dead zone.
Anyone have any problem like this or know why it isn't working? Does she need an upgrade to her Nav system before it will work? Does she need a newer DVD?
We're probably going to take it to the dealer and ask them but I figured maybe someone here had some insight into why the dang traffic thing isn't working.

In short, XM NavTraffic is not available in the 05 TL. It didn't become available until the 07 TL. If you paid for it, see if you can get your $$ back (or at least a credit toward other XM service).
You can't just put a new DVD into the 05 NAVI and upgrade it to get NavTraffic. NavTraffic (like MP3 playing) is one of the updates from the 07 Mid-Model-Change (MMC). Short of putting a new head-unit into the car for big $$, there's nothing you can do.
There were a bunch of threads on this topic, because when the 07's came out with all these features, the folks with 04/05/06 TLs hoped we could upgrade to them easily with only a DVD. Turns out it is not that simple. But it's good you asked, you never know -- after all that's how the $77/year deal is!
