Whining and popping from speakers when car is OFF.
Hey guys I need your help!
When my car is off (key pulled out)
I can hear whining and popping from my speakers.
This is draining my battery.
I disconnected my HFL, but it didn't resolve the issue.
When I open the door to my car The sounds stop. But when I close my door, it continues. (Sometimes it continues while the door is open).
I have no idea whats causing this problem. its been going on for over a month now.
The only thing electrical that is aftermarket would be

The only thing electrical that is aftermarket would be
- Amp and subwoofer in my trunk
- HID Fog light conversion
- Radar detector hardwired into an Accessory wire. (the tech that installed it told me that.)

I would start by unhooking these things you mentioned were aftermarket. Unhook the sub amp, check for noise, then unhook the radar detector, check, then fogs.
My initial thought was the aftermarket amp, but for some reason im going with the radar detector.
Find out were the tech made the connection. take a picture of the "accessory" wire and post it here (I want to see this tech's handy work anyways, lol).
Sounds like something is connected to a constant 12volts, instead of a "switched" 12v. Good luck

I unplugged my factory AMP and (OBVIOUSLY) the sound stopped. This is a temp fix for the battery drain. I will plug it back in and still continue to trouble shoot.
A tech from FRYS ELECTRONICS installed my radar. I checked his wiring and it checked out fine but to be safe i disconnected everything aftermarket.

retrace the aftermarket radar tap....around where the wire is tap check all wires around in case of any of the wires were pinched during the install etc..
sometime when i install indash it happens to me when I put the indash back together the dash would pinch wires and tear them up...

Thanks for the Feedback An. So I took my car back to the frys guy. He ran some tests and everything aftermarket was fine.
I did notice that the whole day today that the problem did not occur today when I plugged back in the AMP.
And I did notice something
When I turn the car off and pull out the key I remember to always hear a CLICK sound (probably the sound makes when the AMP shuts off) from the AMP.
When the problem did occur I don't recall hearing that CLICK sound.
I will continue to keep an eye on this.
Im being optimistic and just thinking that maybe the amp needed a hard reset (unplugged and plugged back in) haha.

u could try that...my mark levinson for my SC430 theres a 15 minute reboot process for it...
just trash the amp and buy an aftermarket one?...i have a 450/4 jl audio amp if you want to buy...it can push 300 watt rms for a sub + 150 watt rms for any mid + highs....at any OHMS or however you spell it
Edit: i just noticed..u said u have an aftermarket system correct?..
how did you run your remote wire?...i hope you didnt tap it to the factory remote wire?..cause the factory remote wire doesnt have enough V i believe to Power up both factory amp + aftermarket amp...maybe that could be another cause...i did the add on fuse on my TL

It sounds like you're getting straight DC to your center and maybe others. This will eventually blow them.
Is the ANC disconnected? You mentioned the noise stops when you open the doors.
If its not something incorrectly wired I would be looking at the factory amp.
For now, with everything disconnected, plug one component back in at a time until the problem comes back. Find out what "accessory" wire the radar detector is wired into.

I had this problem with my 07 S also.
The factory radio had developed a short & would only work part of the time & with no way to control any of the radio functions. After replacing the radio with a new factory unit the speaker noise went away.
I was able to find a factory radio for about $220.

Hey guys Sorry for the late update, I had to be sure if the problem was fixed or not.
It is not fixed.
After plugging the factory AMP back in the problem did not come back.
So i slowly started plugging things back in.
Fog lights (not the problem)
When I plugged my AMP and subwoofers back in. After a few days i noticed the problem came back.
I unplugged the AMP and subwoofers and sounds stopped.
But yesterday 5/20 The sound came back even with the AMP and subs unplugged.
It may be messed up wiring. Im going to take my car to the shop and just have them check all radio/electrical wires.
