I was thinking of putting it in the upper tray in the armrest console as it has a cutout for a wire in the tray.

if I do put it in there, when you open the armrest, it will pull more wire into this tray and I think most likely won't retract when you put the armrest down.

This means pressure on the ipod where the wire connects. From past experience with ipods, this can be very bad and cause irreversable connection problems for the ipod.

For those of you who have mounted in this spot, please chime in.
