Morning folks,

Ive started a thread in the past about speaker upgrade recommendations for the TL...and now I'm backtracking a little. I like the TL's sound from factory speakers just fine (I just dont want to spend the large $$$ to upgrade just yet). Problem is, I've got a front right speaker that is blown and I cant handle the crackling any longer.

I dont want to have to buy aftermarket speakers, plus an amp just to solve 1 blown speaker. I'd like to do the work myself and have a like-for-like replacement. Is there any place other than the dealership to buy a factory front speaker for an '04 TL??

Just during these economic downtimes...no matter how much I love good sound and my TL, I cant see myself spending $500+ on upgrading 2 speakers and an amp.

YES there is a great option

they used to be called junkyards, but now are more accuratly described and called
auto dismantling and recyling
they recyle used car parts!

Look in the phone book or do internet search for places near you
Or have part shipped from wherever
The recycle yards are on a `hotline system` so they can find what you need

 

Definitely junk yard...you'll be surprised what you could find. The only thing is when you're there, it makes you wonder what happened to the drivers that drove those cars-pretty eerie, but a great resource for little things that you need.
