where to connect loc for Sub

I had a sealed box with a JVC amp and a pair of Vega 10's installed by the "experts" at Best Buy this week. They first tapped the Sub speaker level leads with a LOC and got "horrible feedback" from the road noise canceling circuit, so they tapped the rear speaker leads, and finally disconnected the microphone above the rear deck. The system works now but I wonder if the active noise cancellation circuit needed to be defeated. Also, I can't adjust the bass without messing up the front/rear balance. They tell me there is no other way to make it work. What do I need to change?

Thanks!

From what I have seen/heard you have to disable the noise cancellation microphone for it to work properly.

Then LOC can be connected to sub speaker wire just as it was before they changed it

Thanks Fulani

I got good relevant info from your similar post earlier today, and "Big problems... need help (Sub + Noise Cancellation)"

The Best Buy "experts" said connecting the LOC to the sub channel would not work and that it must be driven off the rear channel. Could this possibly be correct?

um... i just installed a loc on my tl to the input to the stock amp, then located the loc under the passanger seat. the loc is wired to the two wire that are feeding the signal into the stock amp. i don't remember what the color of wires are but the subs work and i don't get ANY interference. jl 500/1 with alpine 12'' type x. need more juice but works, best buy is high on crack. never take anything to them.

LOC should be on the output side of the amp

if your installer tapped the signal before the amp then it wasn't an LOC. LOC's convert high, speaker level signals to low, preamp levels.

On the TL-S you will have to dissable the Active noise cancellation by disconnecting the rear microphone (the lead is under/inside the rear dome/map lights in the back seat). I disconnected the factory lead on the sub, ran my LOC to this and it works flawlessly in my car. This also enables you to still use the head unit to control sub output.
