I vaguely remember the first time I unlocked my TL with the keyless entry remote, the headlight came on. I don't know if I press something wrong, but now when I unlock my door using the remote, my headlights no longer turn on. So, was I imaging thing or can someone tell me how I fix this problem?

 

It is an option under your driver settings on the info screen. You can choose different lengths for them to go off when you lock and come on when you unlock it. They will shut off after the 30 seconds (or whatever time you choose) if you do not open the door when unlocking the car....ie its bad to turn them off and on in a short period of time.

 

Just leave your headlight to the ON position. Next time you press unlock, it will light up. It has an auto-off option in case you leave it on after X amount of seconds, depending on what you set it to.

 

How do i change the settings on the auto-shut off option?

 

in my 06 I always left the headlights on, sometimes they would come on when I unlocked it, and soemtimes they wouldnt open untill I opened the door

 

^^^^....what makes the lights come on is if you leave the lights on as ppl have already discussed. however, if you unlock your door and and the lights come on, the timer activates as soon as the key fob is pressed. therefore depending on what you have your timer set to, then the lights will shut off if the car is not started or if the door is not opened after the vehicle is unlocked. hence, the lights may not come on the 2ND tme you hit the unlock but becasue the headlights timer has already timed out....so, as you can see, the timer would reset itself when you open the door
