What's happening with the Cingular V600??

Does anyone know what's happening with the Cingular V600s? I have one with the older software. When I called Cingular, they offered to replace it with the V400 but the V400 doesn't have bluetooth. There seems to be some issue withe 850 frequency, does anyone know what effect that would have on reception?
Thanks in advance for the info.

V600

I'm not sure why Cingular is dropping the V600. I do know that I am having reception problems. I'll have all my bars (stationary, not moving) and calls will drop. I'll look at the strength meter and there will be no bars. Once the call drops, the strength meter goes right back to full strength. This happens at least 3 times per day. I called Cingular and they have no answers to this problem. Of course!!!

I'm in the Dallas market. I wonder if this is the 850mhz problem?

The replacement for the V600 is underway. Before they were giving people v400s and would give new re-done v600s when they came in. Those new v600s have now come, and if you call Cingular's warranty line, they will send you a new one. I suggest that even if you have no problems with your current v600 that you send it in because the new one has a better screen and better reception. Also, the source of the initial issue seems to be a problem with the 850 MHz band; therefore, those who do not have 850 in their area may not be currently experiencing issues, but down the line when 850 is implemented everywhere, it would be a good idea to have a fixed phone.

Will the replacement V600 resolve the 850 mhz problem?

Yes, the 850 problem was why Cingular "recalled" it.
