whatever happened to factory ipod integration on 07 type s
i remember seeing factory ipod integration on 07 type s in the ad and on the website. Whatever happened to it? Did they get rid of it? Does anyone have it in their 07 tl type s?
If you are talking about the acura musiclink system, it failed hard. There were way to many problems with it so acura decided to let 3rd party companies handle it. Currently these manuf. make ipod adapters:
DICE
USA-SPEC
GROM
PX-AMG (made by preherial sp?)
and a few others.

The ipod adapters that are being made now are of top notch quality, they won't mess up your radio. In the event they do, disconnect it and go back to the dealer.

I've been thinking about getting an ipod adapter too... Hella tired of looking down at my little ass ipod mini screen and trying to drive at the same time.... haha, not good...
Yes, I think once you have the adapter everything pops up on the navi screen... NOW THAT'S HELLA BETTER AND SAFER...
PEACE!

A large thread exists on the subject in the Audio, Bluetooth, Elec, and Navi section.

However after reading 10 pages of the thread and some other posts, I still don't know what the best option is for purchasing and installing an Ipod adapter.

I've got an Ipod adapter (BlitzSafe) in my car (2005) and if I had a factory aux jack I'd be using it for sure. Wifey just got an 08 CR-V with an aux jack and there's know way I would ever NOT use it. So simple, no installing, no odd side effects. All the adaptors have issues, read the posts. Skipping, sluggish radio response and my favorite...all 6 disks spit out my HU when I want to change one disk. FM transmitters and cassette adaptors suck. So stay hard wired for sure.
As long as you use a cord that hooks to the docking connector (like this Belkin link) or this link (won't charge iPod) you will be fine. Docking connector is better to use than the headphone out. Integrated adapters are so overrated IMHO unless you are talking about a full integration with the NAV screens. Even then it's questionable to me since your next iPod may not be compatible. Thumb wheel and iPod screen seem to be good enough.
Seriously, I'm no technophobe and I don't mind ripping up the car to do the install. I just don't think the bang's worth the buck here if you already have the aux jack.

aux jack is usual at times. when you have new songs you want to listen to, you dont necessarily have to burn a new cd. Just add the song in to your ipod and connect it to the aux jack. The annoying thing is that it doesn't charge the ipod. Another reason why everyone wants to get an ipod integ. is because it's very unsafe and its a hassle to look for a specific song you want to listen to while driving. If everything can be displayed on the touch screen, it'll make everyone's life alot easier. I heard that you can use the xm channel to connect the ipod integ. But if you do, you won't be able to use the xm radio. Not sure if thats a valid fact
I have the Dice Kit, and am very happy. It does not integrate with the Navi, and I didn't want to wait for them to get right for the 07-08's. But I am very happy with it, I mounted the cradle just above the AC duct. It does not block anything and is in good position to see and make change...plus the steering wheel controls work with it. Sounds awesome and is very easy to install.
