What does this exactly do?

Does this thing let you know when a cop is around? Cause all TL's should come stocked with this because this car will speed easily and have caught myself going 60 on a 45. The last thing i need is a ticket.

It CAN let you know when a cop is around. I wouldnt use it thinking you're immune or even safe from a ticket.

Just keep an eye on your speedometer and pay attention to your driving.

lol, this ones kinda funny

it detects when cops are using radar...and if u have a higher end model....lidar...

cops use radar to get how fast your going...with this...u can detect when a radar is near and is turned on...so this gives u an advantage so u can slow down so they will detect you going within the speed limit...but by no means should u use this to think it won't get you a ticket....

Beware, that in some states and in Canada, these things are illegal.

I would get a Passport Escort 8500 X50 or a Vanlentine One instead of that one.

Be careful because i know that cops here in GA use laser as well as radar. From what I've read radar detectors won't protect you from troopers that use laser. Anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

This is where I did some research when looking for radar/laser detectors a while back. The guy claims to be a retired cop.

IMO, you should save your hard earned money. Many cops and state troopers are using lidar now. There may be a few that still use radar, but you aren't going to get your money's worth at this point. Cops using lidar only have to point at your car really quick to get a speed reading, so radar detectors can't pick it up until it's too late. I regret wasting money on mine.

Absolutely true. These detectors depend entirely upon the generosity of other speeders ahead of you. And LASER detectors only tell you that you've been caught.

Moving to ABEN.

absolutely not true

it may just be where u live...but there are still cops that use radar....here in jersey its a mix....mainly laser...bu there are SO many times that ive been saved with my radar detector...i have the passport8500 x50 and ive saved a lot of money due to the radar because there are cops hiding behind trees or deep in a parking lot...or even in a speed trap....it helps...it certainly dosn't hurt....and even with lidar...if ur smart...you can utilize this...cops won't waste there time if ur going 5-10 miles over unless they are trying to fill their quota or a cop just needs some action heh but ive been tagged a few times with lasers....and ive been going 5-10 miles over...and i go faster....its good to be aware if ur being tagged so u can slow down....even at night...when my radar goes berserk at 2 in the morning its good to know that ur being watched so u can watch urself

I agree with previous posters. Almost all today radars and lidars are "instant on"- they transmit only when a cop pulls the trigger. The only chance of detecting it is when your detector sees a signal bleeding over form a car ahaed of you, which is targeted by the cop. It doesn't work very often.
I sued to have a detector 10 years ago, but I don't bother anymore.
And, by the way, never ever buy any "Jammers" All of them are fakes and do nothing.

photo radar

Photo radar is popular in Denver. A cute little white van that hangs out around school zones highways etc...just got nailed by one a couple of weeks ago. $80 bucks-13 over ouch. The speed in the school zone is 20 mph before 4pm. I usually dont speed that much and am careful through school zones but that was one of those days my mind was not on my driving. Dangerous I know but I think if I had a radar detector it would remind me to slow down when I need to. They are starting to install devices on the traffic signals and light poles at intersections to bust you for running red lights. Do these dectors work on photo radar vans and the units on the light poles? Do they use lidar or radar? Im gunna need a radar detector! I have been looking at the Beltronics RX 75 remote system. I like the way everything can be conealed. Not that Im hiding it From cops, it the low life thiefs that I have a hard time with. That Radar Roy guy rates the unit on the high side. Is he for real??? Any suggestions????

best bet is to get the ESCORT Passport 8500 X50 and an Escort Shifter ZR3 for laser invisability. these two work together to give you the best protection availible IMO
will run close to $900 installed but two tickets could cost you 900 if you count insurance increases
