I just found your thread/product idea...and i'm very interested as well. I'm tired of the dull, paper woofer and was going to take apart rear deck anyways to get rid of the rattles....so I will just get this and do all at once! let me know..keep me posted!

Just a little tip for CA parts shipping....if you stamp the box "Replacement Auto Part - Under Warranty". There is no extra taxes charged. Because tax was paid on original part...this is a replacement. FYI

Just received back the final version of the subwoofer/enclosure. I'll snap pictures tomorrow when I get access to my camera. The only thing different will be that the finish won't be a vinyl wrap, but rather a textured painted finish (without the metal corners). It's very nice and is the same finish used for their home audio cabinets. Also, the speaker itself will be black with a black cone instead of the CDT logo there
In my opinion it sounds great! This is exactly what I was looking for when I designed it to work in conjunction to all the other factory speakers and headunit.
I do want to make something clear that this isn't going to be a 12" subwoofer performer. For those who want a 12", or big boom, go for that setup you were thinking of. This is rather for those who want a smooth linear increase in bass, but also don't want it overpowering any of the factory, or even aftermarket components. It's very rich in detail, and due to the 8" cone it has no problem remaining crisp in even the quick bass lines.
I'll be doing some demo's this week for anyone interested to stop by and take a listen. We also are finalizing the bracket and mounting setup for the enclosure by this week. After that, the first batch of pre-orders will be open (50 units) and if all goes smooth, this something we can look forward to having in our cars by Christmas.
P.S. If this runs well, I've already discussed with Ken at CDT about possible front stage image enhancement packages.

A few more final pictures.
As noted earlier, the only thing that will be different from now are visual aesthetics. All the sound fine tuning has been completed.
The enclosure will be a black texture-coated paint, the image here in vinyl wrapped. It also won't have metal corners.
The woofer will be all black, without a logo.
Enclosure size, ports, sub dimensions and terminals will remain the same.
Close up of the terminals. They are simple twist on, twist offs that allow the sub to be disconnected within a few seconds.
And here is a comparison for sizing measurements. It's only about 3/4th's the length of the J-Pipe, same height and a bit thinner in width. The total unit weighs only 15.6 lbs with the loaded sub-woofer, enclosure packing, wiring, and the box itself. If you compare that with stock, it's only a 10lb increase in weight, for those who are concerned.
I'll have a picture of the enclosure mounted in-car tomorrow.
First 50 of these will be available to pre-order by this weekend on the revised www.acuratlparts.com!

OEM sub-woofer will be disconnected. This is the ONLY sub that will be generating the bass.
also, will this be mounted on the trunk floor or at the top of the trunk right under the speakers..?

This will be mounted at the top of the trunk, right under the speakers using L type brackets. It will utilize the pre-existing holes. But, it can also be mounted on the floor, it's totally up to the user. We will provide the mounting kit needed for the top of the trunk.

Personally heard the sub today. I'm by no means an audio tech, but there was definitely a great improvement over stock.
aznbo187 (mike) and I listened to several CD tracks in his TL equipped with the new sub, then the listened to the same CD + tracks in my TL (stock audio) and I could tell instantly the quality of the bass was better then stock. The bass "hit" smoother. It made my stock sub sound muffled.
We tried several settings from wild to civilized on multiple tracks. The sub delivered every time. Anyway just thought this might help some that want to improve their audio system w/o going overboard. IMHO this is definitely something I'll be picking up.

So Im assuming the stock sub gets disconnected and removed and this box gets mounted and uses the same hole the original stock sub was pushing sound through?
If this is correct.... will this resolve that annoying subwoofer rattle problem that our TL's are plagued with?

As far as the rattle, although the factory sub is the main culprit of the rattle, it sure helps eliminate the smaller rattles if you put a thin layer of sound deadening while you have your sub out. It really makes a night and day difference just being able to listen to clean bass with no rattles.
I'm going to get the brackets by this weekend and I'll try to have some mounted pictures of the setup for you guys.
Thanks.

Yes, you have to disconnect the factory woofer, as the factory amp probably won't have enough juice to power up two woofers at the same time. And yes, it does push sound through the hole, as well as the ski pass if you open it up.

Thanks Mike. I'm very interested if the price is right as well. You know the truth is I want your ATLP as well but I need to figure out how to make it work with my Ron Jon Kit. I already figured out how to integrate fogs, its just a matter of time and of course money. In the works.

Any pics of the enclosure installed underneath the rear deck? I am seriously interested just need to see how inobtrusive the enclosure will be and above all the price. Thanks for your grand efforts in this endeavor.

Final Price and PIcs of it Installed
Very interested but will not make a decision until after I see pics of it installed in the trunk deck. Also, need to see final price. It would be nice if it came with a copy of the service manual pages for removing the back deck, etc.
