weather on navi ?

OK, I'll step up say I know very little about this so please don't flame me for asking. I know there is someone out there trying to get the weather program like the new models have installed on the 07-08 TL's w/ navi. Do you think this is even possible?

you would need to get XM to make us a new software update or a new antenna/tuner so we could receive the data, the GUI is already half made for the new TSX which uses 4.xx navi disks...

The new 4G TL's with the Tech Package have real time weather. Honestly, that's the only thing I wish the 3G's had that are on the 4G's.

I have seen some impressive projects on this forum. If it can be done, someone here will get what is needed and make it happen.

If Alpine updates our 3G TLs Navi Map (better MAP resolution), and improve the feature and function, I'll pay the US$ 200.00 DVD update any day...

But for the MAP update, I feel like it's not worthy...

As for the Weather, I think it's a nice to have features...

However, there are many other features I believe should have be included in 3G TL at least on the TL-S.

Like HFL Dial-pad on the LCD, real phone book (I know this would be impossible because need extra storage, something which we don't have, like HDD).

And use phone's service data to download traffic updates instead of using XM service...

I agree about the MAP update. The HFL dial pad on the LCD is a good idea. But I doubt any of this would ever come about. They'll tell you to buy a 4G instead.
