wavlab academic pricing, advantages
wavlab academic pricing, advantages
If you have a valid academic ID (faculty, staff, student), there are a number of sites on the net that sell software, including WaveLab at academic discounts approaching 50% off the usual.
I actually do work for an academic institution and got mine that way. If you are similarly situated, it does make WaveLab an easier choice.
For me, it's clearly the right choice...particularly since I am burning DL (dual layer, 8.5 gig disks)...the ability to do multiple groups on a disk is important to me...as is the ability to do 5.1 groups.
There are some good threads out there on the net explaining how to get 5.1 sound into your computer ( http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&postid=338286 for example) and there are some great concerts out there in 5.1. See http://www.inhd.com/item.jsp?item=2 . I pay the cable company for programing in HD with 5.1 sound...might as well use it.
