I'm not a fan of nokia anymore. They can't seem to expand on their product line. I have seen the same nokia models, only with different housing concepts. Drives me insane. That might explain why their expected earnings for Q3 also droped another third. THe other manufacturers are catching on and their gadgetry is amazing, namely Sony Ericsson and Motorola...and soon Samsung with the D500.

Eventhough I'm well aware mobilezen is not a fan of it, I love my Nokia 6230. Bluetooth, MP3s, Videos, 1 gig storage, and it compact size are among my favorite features.

You are correct. They need to do something about that d-pad cause when I had my 6230, someotimes I would hit the select button in the middle instead of hitting a direction. It got annoying.

Unfortunately, I notice it too. I've just gotten used to positioning my thumb a certain way to click the select button. imo, its worth it to have all these features in such a compact phone. I'm also a big fan of nokia. This probably influences my decision. At least we can agree to disagree. Just curious, what phone are you using? I'd like to check it out

... Don't get me wrong about the 6230, it is by far an incredble phone. My decision to get certain phones are based on feature and manufacturer reliability and support. Each year, I average using or testing 15 phones so I get very picky at the selection for my own phone. Currently, I am using the Sony Ericsson S700i. Amazing phone, amazing interface, the camera is mind blowing and it also has expandable memory but not like the 6230's 1GB that you have. I agree to disagree...sure. I used to be a Nokia fan too until I picked up a Sony Ericsson T68i which I did not have too much luck...then a T610 which made me almost give up. Then I got a P800, P900, K700i, and the rest is history.

btw, the way I hit the selector button is to put my thumb half way between the middle and the bottom, then push down then up and usually hit the selector button easier that way.

Wow, you're ridiculously spoiled when it comes to cell phones. Ericsson phones are pretty decent, but the one you're using is freakin unbelievable. The pictures of it still have me wondering. One angle it looks just like a digital camera, another angle like a PDA and opened it looks like a cell phone. What is msrp on that thing...near a grand?
i'll stick with my 'crappy' nokias for now

If you're interested in the S700i, shoot me an email. I found a couple good e-merchants to buy from. As for be spoiled? Nah...people are generous enough to send me test phones sometimes and I can test them out for an extended amount of time before sending them back or selling it for them. I'm picky about my phones. So far the S700i has lived up to all my expectations of a Sony Ericsson and more.

Can the s700i work with Verizon?

Another question. Do you know if there are any other BT phones for Verizon coming out soon. Idealy I'd like a bluetooth phone with an integrated PDA. Any thoughts?

You're in Cali...switch to At&t or Cingular. The S700i will not work with Verizon because it is a GSM phone. Any PDA/Phone combo will not work with the TL except the Blackberry 7100t.

i'm going to stick with this 6230 for a while. I still don't understand how you get people to let you use all these new phones. You must have generous friends/business associates. lucky bastard...heh

It's a lot of work. Not like I woke up one day and a handful of people trusted me.

I dont quite see a dialpad on the s700i... cud u explain that a bit... Both of them pretty much seem to be the same price, so what exactly am i missing with the k700i thats there on the s700i...

Also on a side note, i did not know the 6230 has 1 gig of memory ?!?!?... that seems to be a lot for a phone. I highly doubt thats true.

LOL...don't get me wrong. The K700i is an incredibly solid phone. I really like it. Must be my vision is getting worse or something cause I do like the bigger screen and larger text on the S700i. On the S700i, the phone swivels out to reveal a keypad. The main difference of the S700i is that it has a larger screen, a 262k color display, sony memorystick duo slot and a 1.3mp camera. Yes everybody, this is my phone...not a test phone.

FWIW, I just picked up an unlocked Motorola MPX 220 from best buy here in california. It's a fantastic phone! I don't get any information in the MID display but the sound quality is great. This phone is the closest thing to a full fledged smart-phone that will actually still work in our TL's.
