Curious

For the UPGRADE experts out there,
I'm getting annoyed by the 30-40 year old woman's navigation voice. Do you guys remember the voice that Acura.com had on its website? The navigation voice on the gal sounds so much sexier Wondering if there is a software to change the voice or get better voice of the navi person

Not a big deal, but I would like to know if there is a possibility to change it out there

much appreciated

The navigation voice on the commercial was a voiceover, not the actual voice of the navigation system. Look at the thread on hacking navi on the TSX forum for info. It's in the works right now.

You have a choice on the 04-05 tl between a male or female voice... at least on the non-navi. Does it not on the navi?

i actually use the Male voice - the female voice got really annoying after a while - i had trouble hearing it certain times.

ur right, they should make the female voice a lot sexier. but then the impact of u hearing it may decrease.

I'm sorry, I have a non-navi...what do you mean by choosing between a male or female voice. I didn't know non-navis talk. Can anybody explain please? Thanks.

For the functions that use voice control in non-navi's (basically the bluetooth), you can choose a male or female voice. If you don't have a cell phone which works with the HFL yet, then there's not much voice stuff to worry about.

If you DO have bluetooth capability....hit the "talk" button, say "system set-up" and one of the options therein is a voice-type choice. Hope that helps

Okay thanks.

So in non-navi the ONLY functions that use voice control are bluetooth phones?

Your response kind of sounds like there are other voice control functions besides bluetooth phones. Please enlighten me. Thanks.

The manual covers this in great detail. The only thing you can do via voice commands in a non-navi is mess with the HFL system. There's a phone book you can use, and you can change a few system options. That's it.

With Navi, you can control climate, radio, cd, xm by voice besides nav and phone.

As far as I can recall (off the top of my head) it's just the phone on non-navi's.
