I am so glad that many fellow TLers are taking advantage of this offer. Please don't forget to thank
"Oswald Vater" as he is the original "finder" of this deal.

Yes, the website promo has changed to only two cruise options.

But, call the number anyway and ask for the $60 for a year promo while looking at the above reproduction of the original offer. It says: "Expires August 31, 2004."

They will hook you up. I just did it. Half-price.

Did anyone choose the plane/cruise option instead of renewing XM?

I called tonight and they are still honoring option 3, even though it is no longer on the web site.

Renew before taking delivery?

For those of you renewing your initial 3-month trial, did you need anything besides your unit ID number to get in on this deal? Do they already have your customer info as a result of the purchase from Acura, or do they enter your info from scratch as you give it to them?

Reason I'm asking, I probably won't have my new TL until Wednesday or Thursday, but if the dealer can get me the ID number by Tuesday, I'd like to try to get in on this. And I can just see the XM folks using the fact that I'm still 24 hours from ownership as an "out", unless they have no way of knowing.

I called this morning (I renewed mine earlier as I stated in the thread ) and asked about it....it's definitely still available. Call while you can! I was on the month to month plan before, but this subscription plan seems too good to miss.

if you are already subscribed, is there any way to get the discount other than extending your subscription?

I called for the discount and they said they couldn't do it because I'm already a paying suscriber. They said it was only for the people renewing after their trial period. How many people here were already paying for their subscriptions and managed to get the deal?

Is this XM offer only for Acura radios?

I just called XM and was told that this special offer was only available for the XM subscription of my Acura. I was trying to get it also extended to some other Skyfi receivers that I have. Can anyone who received the offer confirm whether or not it was an Acura only offer? Thanks.

Just extended XM...No hassle at all

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Got my TL about a month ago. After reading some of the latest posts, I just called their 800 number. I spoke with Rebecca and told her that I wanted to take advantage of the half price deal.
All she asked for is my phone number and address to verify the account and said that I still had 2 months and 2 days left on my free trial and would start my renewal right after the trial expired...WOW!, no hassle at all.
I also asked for an e-mail verification whereas the only receipt one gets is the $60. charge on your credit card statement. She took my e-mail address and said it takes about a week for this confirmation.
Get it in writing...just in case.

I also posted this on the Bluetooth,Navi, etc. forum

I just signed up for the 50% subscription. I just got my TL yesterday and activated XM radio the same day. I called this number for better service (800)998-7900. I got this number from reading a similar subject on this forum. I was asked if I wanted to get an invoice mailed to me or pay by credit card over the phone. I chose over the phone billing.

I said," I want to sign up for your 50% off yearly subscription that ends August 31st and was informed by my local Acura dealership on this promotional offer". She knew what I was talking about and processed my request.

Hope that helps.

I just activated my XM today (8-29) at 50% off (I had let it expire in February) for one year. I was asked where I saw the promo and I told the representative that I saw it on their web site. That was all they needed besides the radio code, address, and billing arrangement.

I activated my XM account on a Chevy. It's a Company Car and I put XM in it. I called and they were very happy to give me the $60 deal for one year, and that it would start after the 3 month free trial

That's not true. Call back and speak to another rep.

I renewed for 3 more months after my trial membership ran out and had another month to go. I called for the promotion and they told me they would start my one-year subscription at the discounted rate, and credit me for the month I had left on my previous renewal.

I just signed up too. $60 for the year and it will start when my 3 months are up. 60 bucks till 10/05! Can't beat that deal!

The customer service rep I spoke with didn't even question the promo. If your still on the fence, I'd call now! You can always cancel and get a prorated refund.

Thanks to Oswald and Novice for posting this great $$$ savings news!

Damnit, I finally got through after being put on hold for about 10 minutes and they said that I am not eligible to receive the $60 a year promotional offer because I'm still under the 3-month trial. I guess I'll keep trying and see if another representative can hook it up.

I just got the deal! Cool! The first time I called the gal wouldn't give it to me, so I asked to speak to her supervisor, and she wouldn't give it to me either. I hung up and called right back and got a guy who had to ask his supervisor if it was ok, and it was ok!

GOOD DEAL!!! Thanks forum members!

7:37 a.m. CA time, deal still good on the last day of the offer :-) Gotta love the internet - many thanks to all who posted and saved us $60. All I said was, "Offer number 3 on your website - $60 for one year". She said, "Ok". :-) I was all worried and ready to say I had printed it out last week, etc...

Mother!@#$, I've called a bunch of times, speaking to different reps, and they're still giving me the same BS in that I don't qualify for it because I'm still under the 3-month trial period. WTF!?!

After I was given the $60/Year deal, which will begin after my 3 month trial expires, I asked the guy (Zach) if I could get a confirmation # or ticket # and he stated that he did not have one. Wouldn't that suck if when the time comes for your new promotion to start and they say, "We never received any type of communication from you". Did anyone receive any type of confirmation? M.
