w6 or two w3's??
So I have a jl 500/1 v2 amp and was curious what you guys think I should run for speakers?I was either thinking a 10" w6 or 2 10' w3's both in a ported box..So what do you guys think I should go for??

Depends on your goals and space limitations. Personally I would go with the single sub. The W6 will dig a little deeper and sound a little better. At the same power levels, it's possible the two W3s would get a little louder. I just really like the sound of the W6.

Thank you.
It just gets old every time JL is brought up people say the same old things every time. I've never seen another brand that people love to bash so much. People ask about which JL brand to get and you instantly have the same responses to buy a totally different brand that costs half as much and goes louder while sounding better. I still haven't heard these magical subs. Some recommendations are an outright downgrade and unfortunately people on here listen to that advice. Or you get the auto reply, just because it's JL doesn't mean it's good or something to that effect. The anti-JL bandwagon is very strong and most of it is because it's a mainstream brand. Apparently any brand that is not well known is automatically good and any brand that is popular is automatically bad. I have a friend that was going to get an ID Max over a W7 just because no one know about ID. Now that everyone knows ID, he's getting something else because all of a sudden ID is not good anymore.
Now we have Trunk Monkey selling his W6s and going with something else without even trying them in the proper box or in IB. Personally I think it's a big mistake, the W6s wound amazing in IB or in the right sized sealed box. I can't help but wonder if some of it has to do with the anti-JL ramblings going on around here. In all seriousness, the IB15s were a very slight upgrade over the W6s but it was a very small upgrade in SQ, not enough to sell what you already have.
