Viper vss5000 help
Hey guys as some may know my factory alarm only locks the door it's not being armed it look like a zone is open thst i can't find so I decided to get a aftermarket alarm ... So currently Imma pretend like I have no alarm I'm considering get the viper vss5000 it's on amazon for about 280... I been Doin tons of reading and they say the vss3000 and 4000 isn't a alarm it's just the smart start module but it look like the vss5000 is a full blown alarm with sirens and impact sensor can someone please confirm this for me please before I make the order ... I want a full alarm system with impact sensor and alarm siren so if any impact like a heavy hit on my door or bumper my alarm goes off but I also want the smart start feature to use on my iPhone ... Is the vss5000 my best choice
just realize that since my factory alarm zone isnt being registered to the computer if i buy a XK01 it wouldnt be any use to me would it? if the XK01 use the same pulse from the onboard computer and my factory alarm zone isnt working or is open somewhere that the reason why im getting an aftermarket alarm to being with. so what should i do been reseaching now for 3 week on how to get the factory alarm working or installing a aftermarket one and im lost now

If you're factory alarm isn't being armed and it's just locking the doors there's something open. Check all the switches that need the alarm to be armed.
- Hood
- All 4 doors
- Trunk
Personally to narrow things down I would set the dome light to the center position so when you open the doors the light would come on. Then close the door/doors and make sure it goes off. If it stays on then it means that one of the doors are open. Even if they are all closed, one of the switches or sensors might be messed up and signaling that its still open. Also make sure your hood is fully latched down as well as your trunk. I would definitely try to get the factory alarm working before putting in an aftermarket one because you wouldn't want to arm the aftermarket one and if there's an intermittent fault in one of the switches; the alarm would just go off randomly cause it would think one of the doors got open. Hope all this makes sense.

i found the issue it was a bad hood latch.. so what i did since i really dont care about the hood latch was i ordered a tilt sensor. so imma wire it into the hood latch. i dont think anyone really cares about my engine to steel it, but my rims and aspec kit on the other hand they do steel... so far i installed a shock sensor so now im waiting on the dei tilt sensor
