Viper 5900 vs Matrix 50.5X
Theyre made by the same company, Directed.
What you looking for in your alarm? You tryin to save some loot then go with the Clifford. Both are two way, both have remote starts, Both are wired up the same way...
I have used viper before, and loved it, until the brain failed on me. Never used clifford.
I am thinking about the compustar, because they have the ability to be setup without cutting any wires if you use their accessories which can help you out. Meaning removal when you sell it will be a breeze and you can install yourself without having to solder any wires!!!

yes, but it is illegal. if you ever once forget that it is in gear, especially parked on a hill in gear and remotely just bump your pocket where your remote is, it will take off. i've seen it done before several times. one of my old room mates car went through our rented attached garage house, only because his keys fell on the floor and his dog stepped on them. needless to say, if it werent for insurance, it would have been payed out of his own pocket. It would have been worse if by chance someone was hit because of it...
thats why it is illegal to do it here in canada and most of the states (lived in cali too)

Compustar alarms "require" the car to be in neutral to start. I had it on my civic and in order to remote start it, you need to turn off the car in neutral with your foot off the break and close the door.

They are both the same units. DEI makes the brain control module for both of them and if you do some searching.. you'll find out that the brain part numbers are the same meaning they are IDENTICAL. So with that being said, go with which one is cheaper or appeals to you. End of story.
