Verizon Treo 650 Issues
I have been using my Verizon Treo 650 with my '04 TL for well over a year now and continue to have intermittent annoying issues with the pairing. None of these prevent me from using the TL and 650 together but they can be frustrating.
Wondering if anyone else has these problems and if anyone knows of any fixes or workarounds.
1) I must initiate a call with the 650 when I first get into my car (I usually call Voicemail) even though the car recognizes the 650 (the icon of the phone and the antenna bars appear in the display) - if I don't do this then the first call I make (or receive) does not go through the HFL. The "transfer" command works occasionally and the person I am speaking to thinks I am an idiot for talking to my car!
2) When I try to dial my Treo via the TL (either spelling out the phone # or one in the TL's phone book) the 650 always resets (I can use CALL or DIAL) - it occasionally works on the second go-round. For this reason, I just dial the 650 myself.
3) For no apparent reason, the HFL connection is lost transiently for a brief period of time (maybe 10 seconds) and then the connection is re-established without me doing anything in particular. The 650 is in one of my cup holders when this happens (which is where I almost always keep it).
Besides these issues, the 650 and TL seem to otherwise play well together.

The VZW Treo 650 has been a "red-headed stepchild" of Treo's and only recently got the firmware that was released for the other T650's a year earlier.
You need to load firmware 1.05a on your Treo. I think you need to get it from Verizon because Palm only has 1.04. If you go to handsfreelink.com they say that you need 1.05a as well. Anything prior will not work very well.
VZW maybe is seeming to hold back on the upgrades.... maybe they want you to get a 700p or 700w???
