V710 Voice Recognition

Got my verizon V710 and have had trouble storing a phone number. Have stored several with no problem, but one number will not be recognized. It puts a zero on the end instead of an eight. This is storing numbers by the voice reconigtion on the Acura, not the phone itself. Maybe its my Tennessee accent.

Can you store numbers in the Acura with the touch pad and not voice recogniton? I guess I ought to read the manual. Didn't have any trouble pairing the phone with the TL.

No, the HFL voice recognition is separate from the Navi voice recognition and thus the Navi screen doesn't do anything with the HFL (notice that the incoming phone number does not display on the Navi or up next to the clock). I've found that it puts in extra zeros if I'm not careful. What I found works best when a number has zeros in it--which is all the time in the DC area, where you always dial the area code--is to park in the garage, turn the fan COMPLETELY off, and feed it numbers three digits at a time. You just let it record the three digits, then hit the button and say three more (or use the back button to cancel if it screws it up), and so on until it's done and you can save it. For some numbers you might just have to do it one digit at a time, which is frustrating.

And one more thing...wouldn't it be great if there were a way to use the voice recognition in the V710 to dial the phone and not the HFL voice recognition? It would be nice if there was some command on the TL which said, in effect, let me talk to the V710 as if I were talking through a Bluetooth headset. This way you could use the phone book in the V710 directly and not have to program numbers into the TL's phone book.
