V710 Pairing Problem

I just got this phone and it won't pair with the car.
It seems that everyone here uses Verizon, but I am in Canada and using Telus, and seems like this moto doesn't like to pair with the TL

I heard a rumor that Telus is releasing a new firmware for the phone to fix the bluetooth problem though...

any suggestions or help?

Is the phone not finding the HFL? I had trouble pairing my phone at first because I was using the setup mode in the bluetooth link instead of going to handsfree and then "look for devices"

DoriDori, the V710 with telus should pair with your car. I work for a telus dealership, and one of the clients from our other stores informed us that he was able to do it with his new TL. There are two ways to pair it, you can have the phone look for the device or the device to look for the phone. I have the v710 myself, so you can pm me if you need help.

Thanks for the replies guys =)

I managed to pair it with the TL.
As 05 TLNBP said, I have to make the phone search for the HFL not wait for it to find the phone.

bonzai: I really appreciate your help ^^ Everything is working great now hehe
now I am just waiting to get the cable and hack it so that I can use my mp3s as rings tones!!

V710 call answer problems

Hi

New to this ...I read Doridori's post & I too am in Canada with Telus...Have the 2005 TL with Navi ... just purchased a Motorola V710
Seems to pair up fine with the TL...however...Picking up incoming calls is a problem.
The Handsfree link swithches to " in use " for a split second then drops the call...
( I have it set to annouce " you have an incoming call " along with a phone ring )...
Here's the weird part...if I reach over to my V710 & click the up or down volume button on the left side of the phone...to silence the ring...NOW I can flick the TL talk button & pick up the call with no problem ???

ps: on the Acrua phone list site it shows the V710 & under that says software version 1.40 ... when I check the s/w version on my Telus V710 I see ; Telus_1X_1.0F.2P .... I take it Telus has taken' a slime-ball trick out of Verison's phone set up & manipulated Blue tooth naturally with out warning their dealers or the buying public

Any thoughts on a solution

thanks

To the best of your Knowledge, does Telus "Tweak " the Blue Tooth / Handsfree capabilaties with the V710 ?

could my problem be simply to try another V710 ?

How does one get the latest V710 s/w version i.e. 1.4 as per Acura's web phone list?

thanks

more V710 Weirdness

Would you believe, with a bit more experimenting...I have discovered my TL Handsfree WILL allow me to pick up the incoming call PROVIDED that my V710 is on Vibrate...yep, go figure...( wife has the same phone...hers works the same way). ( unless we were lucky enough to get 2 lemons : )
WTF is up with that??

Anybody else finding this same weirdness with the V710, Telus & TL ??.

Could this be a Telus Tweak ? If so why ? At any rate if you've been having the same prob. now you know...just put your phone on vibrate & the HFL seems to handle the incoming call no prob.

Now if only the V710 vibrate mode wasn't so pathetic...you could risk leaving it on your hip like that...but hey, it's a new year & I'm thankful & blessed.

any suggestions

thanks

v710

I have the v710 and Verizon upgraded my s/w version beyond what Acura is capable of and now it will not connect at all... not even to a bluetooth headset. I deleted the phone and tried to re-pair it and now it will not pair at all.

I took it in and they now are replacing it with an e815...

The HFL folks told me yesterday, after six months of frustration with my V710 dropping every single incoming call, that you must set the HFL option to "ring tone" rather than "voice prompt." Every call I have received since making the change has come through without a hitch.
