V710 digital problem
Hi folks,
I currently own a V710 in Canada with telus Mobility as provider. For some reason, just in some area, I can't access the digital network. In some other area I can access the digital network as well as the analog network. In those area my phone pick up a full signal, but there is no way to connect through.
The funny thing is that I always access those area before, in digital but not anymore.
My guess is that the phone still work in CDMA 800 and AMPS 800 but not anymore in CDMA 1.9, but I'm not sure.
It might be a programmation problem from Telus as well, but after contacting them they want me to send them the phone.
When I force the Analog (AMPS 800) in those area, it works fine.
Somebody has the same problem ?

With the V710, you should be able to bring your phone into the Telus store for them to update the PRL list. They can also do a lot of stuff to your phone OTA. I'd talk to the techs over there and see what they say. Should be a fairly simple fix.

Telus finally receive a firmware update, but they're still installing it on their system.
@mobilezen: Don't you think that the phone could be unable to get connected on 1.9 CDMA only ? The only moment that it's not working in digital is when I'm in big cities. In smaller cities, even in digital it does work fine which might mean that in CDMA 800 it works. I'm not sure how to verify on which digital network I'm connecting to. In analog there is no probelm at all....

What does the firmware update do? I hear the V710 users in the states, with the latest firmware have signal and battery idicators in the MID. Me telus V710 doesn't do that. Will this firmware update solve this problem?

A friend of mine with a V710, currently download and updated firmware here in canada. I don't think that this firmware is legal, since it's giving him the possibility to take picture without any sound.
Unfortunately, he do not own a TL so he can't check anything about that. It does not seems that this update is very usefull. But I heard that Telus is now supplying an update for the V710.

My V710 is going right back to Telus tomorrow. After only 2 days I've discovered it's crap! It isn't the phone itself, it's the firmware that Telus loaded onto it. Basically the sme as the one on the Verizon netowrk in the states.
And V710 + Verizon has some major problems, including a class action suit. Details : https://acurazine.com/forums/ramblings-12/got-myself-little-20cc-moped-116394/
