Apparently due to RF performance at 850MHz. The V551 will replace it in October. It will have all the same features as the V600 but will also support video capture and EDGE. Maybe it will work better with the HFL as well.

 

That's weird. I just saw a V600 in Best Buy, which also has a Cingular place inside. That was their only Bluetooth phone. I'm assuming they're still selling it here in SC? I was actually going to pick one up this weekend.

 

Remaining stock is still being sold, Cingular just won't get anymore from Motorola due to the RF problem. You should be okay if you do decide to pick one up. The problem was brought to Cingular's attention by Motorola not by unhappy customers or even Cingular's techs. According to Cingular the return rate is <1%. My sister and brother in law both have V600's with Cingular and have not had any reception problems here in SoCal where 850MHz is not extensively used.

 

I was at Cingular in San Diego the other day and was told the V620 was replacing the V600 by the end of the year. Dunno if it's true or not though.
