V1 Mute button

Has anyone discovered a way for a remote mute for a V1? I do not want to move the Arrows by using a the concealed display. Or allow both sets of arrows to light up on both the unit & concealed display?

I'm confused by your post.

If you want a remote mute, then you need the remote display, which has a remote mute button on it. If you plug in the remote display the display of the main unit it turned off, and only the remote display works (this is good so you don't advertise to cops 1/2 mile behind you, that you have a detector on your window).

Read these 2 articles from Audiworld...

http://www.audiworld.com/tech/elec80.shtml
http://www.audiworld.com/tech/elec69.shtml

A friend on Audiworld made a batch of remote mute for us using the article.

It work in conjunction with the remote display - it's a little contact switch that plugs into a regular telephone duplexer which shares the port with the remote display.

I used silicone and glue that switch to the back of the light switch stalk.

The V1 has and still is only available from one place, and that's directly from Valentine Research. You've never been able to buy a new V1 from anywhere, but direct.
