Using Vista cmd prompt

Hey folks....I'm trying to do this navi background change but cannot get past the first couple steps. I've got the files saved to the computer but when I go to my cmd prompt I cannot get into 'any folder' on the computer. Maybe I'm doing it wrong. I have vista.. I'll type the letter of the drive it's on "C:" then hit enter. This is accepted...but when trying to enter any other subfolder next, the error reads , '****' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file'. Any help appreciated....thanks!!

You could always do it in multiple steps. Example: I want to switch to the directory where I have Springsteen's New Year's Eve concert from 1980 saved. If I type "G:\Springsteen\1980-12-31 Nassau Coliseum" it won't work—I get the same error you describe. If instead I type "G:" to switch to the G: drive, then "cd Springsteen\1980-12-31 Nassau Coliseum," it gets me there. Annoying to have to take the extra step, but it works.

It's been a long time since I used the DOS box much, so I'm afraid that's the only solution that pops to mind. Maybe someone else has a better solution.

CD = CHANGE DIRECTORY is the only command that comes to mind as well. Should work.
