2004 TL 6MT, XM enabled/active.

Tried it out with my 5g 30gb video ipod and it will not work in direct mode. My g4 ipod will work.

I noticed when I switch from lets say fm1 to cd-c, the upper display continues to show the xm-2 last channel.

Only when I start the car in cd-c does it reflect that mode in the upper display.

Am I the only one with this problem?

 

Hopefully someone who kept xm with this adapter can chime in. I don't subscribe to xm so I don't know how the unit works with xm........

 

I have both but on a non-navi model (06).

I do notice that if I switch from XM to the ipod, that the last info from xm is left on the display. Not sure what happens if I go from FM to the Ipod. I get varying results depending on the sequence which I never really took the time to figure out. The unit works fine and the sound is more than acceptable to me.

BTW, I have a 30GB Video IPod that was bought brand new this past Christmas and it works fine.

 

I also noticed that this adaptor is messing up the top display when ipod is connected. It may get stuck on a last text or go completely blank. Doesn't affect operation or navi screen messages.

 

I really need to get an audio adapter and I keep holding out hope that USA Spec will get its act together with an update to this unit but it doesn't appear to be happening.

 

Well mine works perfectly. I have an 04' with Navi, but I don't use XM. I use mine in conjunction with my DOM unit and I couldn't ask for anything better. I've heard people say that they have had problems with all the units.....not only the USAspec. So if I were you I wouldn't hold my breath for a 100% customer satisfaction rating.

 

This problem and one other are supposedly the ones to be fixed in their next update. The other problem is that when switching to the CDC source from another source, I need to push disc + twice to get the iPod to play.

They've been saying four to six weeks for several months - we may see an update one day. By the way, it's a firmware update, so somehow the US Postal Service will be involved.
